Both my boss & I prefer Red Rooster over Oporto & most certainly a lot more than KFC (especially the Red Rooster Grilled Chicken). & we've tried to share a whole chicken this time, only later found just one drumstick in our package. (So we got an amputee, may be?) I went back to the counter for clarification. The 1st girl at the counter apologize & get on with packing me a drumstick at once, seemingly this happened quite often. Then a 2nd girl came over & asked me "did I specify it when I placed my order?" I replied "yeah ... the receipt clearly stated that I've ordered a whole chicken, didn't I? So a whole chicken implied two wings & two drumsticks, am I correct?" Before she could answer, the 1st girl came back with my drumstick & she told the 2nd girl "I've taken care of it" & I went back to our table to finish our dinner without further drama. Still ... I can't help wondering "what's going on?" Besides, unlike other fast food join, this place is run down. The hinges on both of the front doors are broken therefore they would stay open, waving on their own in the wind unless you closed it. & the table is dirtier than any other fast food join I've ever been to. I even use tissue paper to wipe my table for them. After our chicken dinner, naturally I would have to wash my hands before driving. That's where I found the dirtiest sink I've ever find in any fast food join (including gas station) as shown as photo (I hope my phone do them justice). Having said that ... most likely we'll still be back for their chicken which we love. Just wish we'll never encounter anything worse than the...
Read moreThe food at this restaurant was undeniably delicious, but unfortunately, the overall experience left much to be desired. We visited on a Sunday night around 10:30 PM, and while the food was good, the lack of welcoming and friendly staff made the atmosphere somewhat unpleasant.
It felt like we had to approach the staff rather than them greeting us, very cold interaction while we were the one to approach them. However, what truly concerned us was the lack of hygiene observed during our visit. It was evident from watching the staff that cleanliness standards were not being upheld.
The staff were seen handling dirty items, bins, and food with the same gloves, which was quite unhygienic. Some were sweeping the floor, others cleaning with water splashing around, and some even changing bins, all while wearing gloves. To make matters worse, some staff members were handling food with these same gloves, while others took off their gloves without washing their hands before handling food.
This lack of attention to hygiene left us feeling uncomfortable and somewhat disgusted, despite the delicious food. It's disappointing that such a crucial aspect of restaurant (well renowned franchise) operation was overlooked. Overall, while the food was enjoyable, the poor hygiene practices and lack of welcoming staff made for a less than...
Read moreWow, disappointment could not begin to describe my feelings on this, starting off with lacklustre service, the ‘restaurant’ looks like it’s being run completely by children. They offer no assistance beyond the necessary ‘What would you like’, with no kind of etiquette, saying nothing to us about waiting after the drive-through. Not even speaking of the inside of the ‘restaurant,’ which smells like a cat shat behind the walls and died. Blue gloves, sprawled like bodies lying on the war-zone that is the kitchen floor, long since having served their purpose. Seemingly lost children chatting it up and running around behind the counter, including staff 100-mile staring right through us, and another restocking the drink fridge instead of servicing. All of which paints a vivid picture of how this place is run.
Having waited for several minutes, only to be served cold burgers without proper chicken patties, hard, nasty chips and under-seasoned fried chicken. A depressing experience, the cherry on top being the service with the smallest ounce of acknowledgement by cold staff who don’t even bother to look at us in the eyes or say anything when handing us our food. I could not finish a single thing.
Overall, an embarrassment that makes the likes of KFC and McDonalds look like 5-star gourmet...
