I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at "Great Taste of Greece." Our group of over 30 people booked in advance and paid a deposit to secure our reservation, as instructed by the restaurant management. Despite being the first table to arrive, we were the last to be served.
We ordered the set menu, which was a complete letdown. The tarama dip was off, and we received less than half the dolmades, halloumi, and mini tiropitas per person than promised. To make matters worse, the loukoumades weren't even enough to serve half of our table. We specifically ordered the set menu with cutlets, but no cutlets were served.
When we brought up these issues, the owner of the restaurant started yelling at us. The only redeeming aspect of our visit was the music, played by well-known musicians in the Greek community.
This place is a rip-off. They overcharge and fail to deliver on their promises, running the business like their island Chios. I strongly recommend avoiding "Great Taste of Greece." Instead, go to Meet The Greek or Steki for a better experience and to actually get fed.
Definitely not...

One of the best Moussaka i have had.
Dolmades were really nice.
Negative
Asking after sardines, waiter/owner says they're interchangeable with anchovies. We continue talking amongst ourselves about why we thought there were sardines. I make the point that maybe we confused it with white bait.
Next thing you know a plate of white bait is plonked down. Neither of us ordered it, but we go with it, unsure if it's complimentary. We were charged for it even though we never ordered it with the owner saying "well you ate it"
I am unsure if he is not overly friendly or his English is just rudimentary, but he did not engage in any conversation when spoken too and presumably acted on conversation when not spoken too.
Ordering BBQ Octopus gets you 4-5 tentacles??
In conclusion I would return for the Moussaka and would bypass meze plate as Dolmades were best part oh and haloumi. I love Taromasalata but thought it was very ordinary. I would try pastitsio because I think maybe their baking is their strength after how good...
Read moreHad a family birthday recently. Was a Saturday night so was expecting it to be busy but the floorplan leaves very little room at all to be comfortable. Our table was right next to the musician and none of us could move freely. I have been here before but it seems there has been a new layout which was fairly obvious attempt to add more seats in a relatively small venue. The food was ok - we took the banquet and was standard Greek food that would be offered in a banquet choice. Definitely can get better elsewhere but having said that the offering was relatively generous. The music, when done right, can be a great addition to a Greek joint . But being crammed in a small place having to hear blaring music to the point no one could even talk is not my idea of fun.We had to hurry it up and asked for the birthday cake to be served just to get out of there. Finally cost per person for what it was, was on the high side. Having been here before I was disappointed as it seems to have lost some of it's...
