Rivareno Gelato is amazingly indulgent ice cream. Rugged up in my winter coat and scarf, I thought it would be a great idea to go and get it.

There were so many flavours to choose from. I finally decided to get a double scoop in a waffle cone. I got pistachio and caffe, which is coffee with dark chocolate shards. The serving was so big and could easily be shared by two. Not only is the ice cream on top of the cone but all inside it too! Both flavours were very creamy with just the right amount of sweetness. The caffe had some bitterness to it and was contrasted well with the sweetness of the chocolate. Both ice creams were smooth and well churned.

Service was very efficient and staff were friendly, cheerful and helpful. They happily recommended flavours to try and suggested flavour combinations that go well together. They were even knowledgeable on what scoop would be better eaten first and then second! They are accommodating of requests and are aware of allergies and dietary requirements people might have and offer ice cream or sorbet suggestions accordingly.

The store happily accepts both cash and card. It is impeccably clean and very inviting.

I’m giving one star because it’s not possible to give less. Me and my partner attended the store at 10:15pm on the 17th of may. The store was empty with 2 staff, one had just served a customer and went out the back leaving 1 staff out front. The Italian lady serving completely ignored us and was talking to another customer. A substantial amount of time passed and The Italian customer even paused and looked over as if to give the lady opportunity to serve. The staff however completely ignored us and continued her conversation with the Italian customer. After seeing this we left the store without making a purchase. The staff saw us leave and didn’t say anything or even attempt to communicate with us. For a new establishment in the area I feel this is terrible customer service. The store was not busy and there was nothing impeding the staff from acknowledging us. We will not go back there again. It’s pretty naive to think they can treat customers like this when there is a Messina merely 200m away, I will be going...

Okay, I spend most of my time in Adelaide which is a bit of a hole. We’ve got a few shops that have opened up and sell cream but most of them are pretty rubbish. I’m used to small scoops, too many flavours, and some don’t take cash. After so many disappointments my expectations for good ice cream were melting away until I got my hands on the ricotta & fichi and menta stracciata flavours here. Hefty scoops, perfect texture and, the staff didn’t bat an eyelid when I pulled out a $50 to pay. So the only question I have is where on Earth is the Adelaide store. People here are queuing up here for mediocre ice cream and I believe there is some serious money to be made. I had a chat with some uni mates and while we’re a little strapped for cash we’d love to invest, I think we’ve got around $87 combined to put towards an Adelaide store. Look forward to seeing you guys here for...

The moment your spoon touches your tongue you know this is an elevated ice cream experience: smooth, creamy, soft, cool enough to hold form but warm enough to be pleasant for your palette. A simply divine gelato experience that shows how great ice cream can be. I got the pistachio because when done right pistachio is an incredible flavor and this one was delicious! Richly flavored with lightly toasted pistachios for a lovely earthy nutty experience. They say they make their gelato daily and i believe it. It is exceptional
