For a Canadian like me it was quite intriguing to notice that the breakfast scene in Australia, especially in cities such as Sydney and Melbourne seems quite a spectacle. In Canada it's a quick coffee and a bagel and you are off to work but here it has become an experience and I noticed many offerings that were serving incredible dishes.
Out of the few places we tried for breakfast and out of many lunch and dinner experiences we had in Sydney, Melbourne and Cairns, Room 10 was by far the most memorable one we had. This place was recommended by our AirBnB host and it was one of the first place we visited for breakfast. Initially when we went it was quite crowded and thought that we may not get a seat so we walked away. After contemplating a bit we came back to the same level of crowds but luckily there was a a table inside that was available where we were invited to sit.
We had the Breakfast Rice, The Deb, the Trout Pane, an Almond Croissant and Cappuccinos. Every single item was absolutely delightful. The Breakfast Rice was especially refreshing, flavourful and probably one of the best breakfast dishes I've ever had at a restaurant or hotel. Will highly recommend. The Deb and the Trout sandwiches were equally good in their own way.
In addition to the great food what impressed me the most about Room Ten was the way it was run. It was like a well oiled, seasoned machine. With a tiny place in the wall, with the a continuous influx of folks coming in, in a an absolute hurry during the morning rush hour, Room 10 functions like a dream. The waiters are efficient, still friendly and cheerful and keep the engine running churning coffees and breakfast items instantly. When we were there it was the peak of rush hour and every single table was taken and many people were waiting outside for their orders but everybody was served in a reasonable time frame. It is truly amazing to see that and kudos to the entire team for that.
Also, the number of people that keep coming to this place is a great testament to the popularity and quality of food that Room 10 provides and I am in full agreement with that.
Hope to visit again soon and keep up the great service, food and the smiles that you put...
Read moreI saw a lot of positive reviews about Room 10, and everyone is talking about the signature Beef Brisket Sandwich they made. So I think I should give it a try. I went there on a weekday, so there were not so many people, but I still have to wait if I want to eat in. Because like the name, the place is like only 10 square meters hahaha. I don’t really mind waiting, since the staff are really nice and the food on everyone’s table looks really yummy! About 10 min later, I have my table and I ordered absolutely the beef sandwich. The meal came really quickly, and OMG, it was heaven at the first bite. The beef is so tender and full of flavour, the combination of the beef and the pickled cabbage is so good. Sour but sweet, only think about it makes me mouth watering again. Also you can add cheese if you would like to, but extra cost $2. For the beef sandwich itself is $17, it is really a good price I think. By the way you can add cauliflower kimchi for $3.5, how interesting it is, I haven’t headed of that before, I think I will try it next time.
I haven’t ordered coffee here since I already have enough caffeine that day. I do noticed they serve Simonsayjuice there, they are specialists in juice and I do love the design and the packaging of it.The juice made fresh daily and delivered by bicycle, how interesting is that. I found there are 12 choices on Simon says website, very healthy and full of nutrition. The juice is on my “Must Try” list already. I will let google know if it is...
Read moreThis cute lil alleyway at the intersection of Pott’s Point and King’s Cross is such a win for brunching. With so many options, there’s something for everyone. We popped over to Room Ten specifically because there was a long line the last time we passed by and had to see what the fuss was about. We got here mid-afternoon on Saturday which meant no line and plenty of tables to choose from.
Started off with a flat white since I was tired, and we settled on the 8-hour cooked beef brisket sandwich, served up with some tasty barbecue sauce. It was a challenge not to inhale the sandwich because the brisket and veggies combo was so savory. My partner ordered the kale & lentil salad and could not stop raving about it. It’s not often we find a salad in town that we would write home about, but this was definitely one of those salads. The pomegranate seeds made for a really nice explosion of sweetness to complement the savory soft-boiled egg. The menu offered plenty of options and at a very friendly price so we will definitely be coming back.
The vibe is so cool too—feels a bit like a Manhattan neighborhood thanks to the narrow brick-lined walls and market lights crisscrossing overhead. And so dog-friendly! Our pup got to sniff many other doggos passing by in the narrow confines between eateries. While they don’t have any dog-tailored menu items, it was a very stimulating environment and her senses feasted...
