Came here for dinner a few nights ago and found our experience to be quite disappointed.
We ordered the following dishes: Pappardelle lamb ragu pasta; Capricciosa pizza; 2022 andrea di pec Pinot Grigio.
The pasta sauce was way too watery, lacked flavour and definitely needed to be thickened.
The pizza dough was so incredibly soggy upon serving that it fell apart instantly when taking a slice. The crust and the base of the pizza lacked firmness and overall quality.
The cutlery we got was soo blunt that even with the soggy pizza that we got, the knife was unable to cut through the dough properly. These things really make or break an experience, besides the quality of the food.
I do want to mention that the staff had the restaurant perfectly under control and were quick with service. They noticed customers that wanted something and acted quick and efficient when needed. The gentlemen working that evening (potentially the owner?) was truly kind and added to the overall vibe of the restaurant.
The restaurant itself looked beautiful and organised and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The large windows add to the seating experience.
In terms of service and aesthetics I truly believe this restaurant has their grounds covered. Yet when it comes to the quality of food, I'd recommend you to try another...
Read moreWe choose to dine at Rosso Italian to make up for for the 21st birthday of a close family member we missed out on. We enjoyed every minute! Prior to dining, I picked up that the owner was previously associated with Fillicudi in Five Dock and lucky for us, the food and service not only stacked up but surpassed expectations. Grateful to receive the perfect Margarita pizza with the right amount of char as well as piping hot pasta from warmed plates. But it was the small things that were not overlooked; attentive service to ensure we had our drinks topped up, changing cutlery and napkins effortlessly between courses, removing empty bottles and replacing our water. Elio was a true old school host without being overbearing and runs a team as it should be. Our only problem is finding more excuses to go back! The former La Perla was where my wife and I celebrated our engagement over 20 years ago and holds some special memories so I am grateful the...
Read moreThis is our second time at Rosso and the food is nice. The staff are friendly. We thought the first time we came was better. We had the pastas and pizzas which are lovely and the tiramisu delicious. This time around we had the risotto which was a winner! The zucchini flowers were nice but felt like missing a sauce which we ended up solving by having the sauce of the meatballs with it. One of our main dishes was late so by the time it came we were pretty much finishing⌠which was not great for my husband but we shared the food that was on the table so wasnât too bad.
The semifredo was nicely presented but was quite hard to have with the spoon and unfortunately was missing flavours as was tasting quite a bit of cream ( more like frozen cream)âŚ.
Overall it was ok but must said enjoyed the first time more. Maybe because the dishes we ordered the first time...
