We had a booking but they allocated the table to other customers who just arrvied and felt free to just sit at a table with reserved sign on it. the restaurant manager didn't even bother telling them whether it was reserved for them and didn't try to give us an equivalent table. Just dismissively said check whether you can find a table in the back yard.

The decoration is not pleasant you could see some rushed collection of all sorts of stuff.

Heavy chairs and tables . I could not believe one day I would review the furniture used in a restaurant but their furniture was heavy poorly designed as it was too difficult to drag it on the gravelled floor of the back yard area of the restaurant.

Very dirty, the grease and food from previous customers were still on the table and chairs.

The attitude of the waitresses was dismissive lazy rude and unhelpful. I understand that Sangak is no degustation restaurant but you would at least expect a normal common decency and courtesy which was not offered in our case. We asked for soft drinks and she said go and pick whatever you want from the fridge which was behind the cashier.

The food we ordered was the famous ' Kaleh Pacheh'. The broth was very watery and tasteless, the tongue was not cooked enough to be easily cut and chewed. The food was cold, the eyes were served in a coaster . I am not sure why they serve food in a coasters. The tea was obviously over brewed and bitter. poorly presented.

I have had bad experiences before with them but I thought everywhere has the good days and bad days and decided to go there this time just because we were catching up with friends etc.

But I should say I will never ever step my foot in...

One of the best persian, Middle Eastern dishes in Sydney is Sangak Bread Restaurant in Guildford close to train station. In Persian 'sangak' means little stone. The bread is baked on a bed of small river stones in an oven. There are usually two varieties of this bread offered at Iranian bakeries: the generic one which has no toppings, and the more expensive variety which is topped with poppy seeds or sesame seeds. They make everything by hand in the unique traditional way and using the ingredients to bring you the one of the Tasty & Healthy traditional Persian food & Bread on your table to enjoy and have fun with family and friends.

YOU CAN HAVE A RELAXED DINING EXPERIENCE THAT IS SOMETHING DIFFERENT TO LOCAL AND FOREIGN PATRONS THAT WHAT THEY PROMISED AND ENSURES YOU ENJOY A MEMORABLE FOOD EXPERIENCE IN THIS RESTAURANT.

My best choice was lam kebabs or lam mince BBQ which they make it on charcoals, of course with Sangak Bread and Yogurt drink which you can add some water into it if you feel it is too strong for you. You also can try Salad Shirazi which they use little Vinegar dressing or garden salad with nice creamy Mayonnaise dressing , make it so delicious food experience for you and your friends. If you looking for Very cozy traditional resturant with Very nice and tasty Iranian dishes, this is...

Even 1-star rating is too much for this unorganised restaurant. The staff were rude and not well-trained. They have totally no idea about customer service!!!

1st experience: 2019 The dishes served unorganised and were not warm, once told the staff, they gave us a smile and took ages to make it warm and served again. It was awful and tasteless. The table was dirty and full of marks and fat stains!!! I told myself it was my last time forever.

2nd experience: April 2021 A friend of mine invited me, after waiting for 45 minutes, got told by lady at the counter we are fully booked!!! My friend told her why you haven't answer your call? Why you haven't told 45 minutes ago? She said to us: the owner asked me not to pick up any phone calls, we are so busy can you understand? She spoke to us violently. I stopped my friend to avoid any conflict and conversational battle especially, a couple of non-iranian customers been there and watching us. We preferred to get out...

In regards to Sangak bread, to be honest is good quality and reasonable price, but ethics and curtsey is more important.

I had disappointing experience 2 times at this restaurant and would not recommend it cause of lack of professionalism and...

This was a gem of a place and I have never been happier or excited to have discovered such an amazing restaurant. Food was absolutely delicious and on point. We ordered the mixed plate (lamb mince kebab, lamb backstrap kebab and grilled chicken), baghali polo (type of rice) with lamb shanks and ghorme sabzi (slow cooked lamb with herbs and red kidney beans). Lets start with mixed plate where every item had its own delightful and unique taste. The lamb skewers were succulent and chicken was cooked to perfection. Usually with chicken kebabs, it gets way too dry but these guys did it really well and kept it moist. Next was the lamb shanks with baghali polo and it was equally tasty. The lambs were cooked really well and just fell off the bones without struggle. Finally the star dish was the ghorme sabzi. Now I usually steer away from this dish but thank goodness I tried it as I was blown away. It was absolutely delicious and this has become my new favourite dish. Please do go and visit this restaurant and reward your taste buds.
