Second Home Cafe - Kellyville — Restaurant in Sydney

I continuously get disappointed in this place. I hope this messages get to the manager - I can't never find a manager here. This happened last week - I found a scone with mould and dry muffin. The sweets sold in this café are shocking. I told the lady with the high bun at the counter, she said sorry but that was it. I don't think they find this is a serious breach of food hygiene. The same lady, I found it's hard to communicate with her, she keeps smiling which is lovely but I don't feel like my message was delivered. I still love the food cooked from the kitchen. The taste of food is well balanced and comes with beautiful presentation. My favourite food items are the Avocado chicken bowl and the steak sandwich. They are absolutely beautiful. Coffee is okay but not exceptional - they used to have a great coffee, I have my favourite lady, but it was good only when she makes it, but I think she is gone and I don't think I ever want to go back for coffee or dessert. I used to come here at least fortnightly for food and maybe more than 3 times a week for coffee. It used to be a great cafe until about 2 months ago. loved coffee and staff - the bearded man, the tall korean lady, Sam, and Angie. Of course I have my favourite I understand. These days, I'm not sure if the cafe is under new management, the whole atmosphere is changed even though the cafe set up is the same. Coffee taste is completely changed, the new main staff seems that she doesn't care about the customer's need but walking around - it was so hard to get her attention to order something and it happened a couple of times with me already. I am also not sure why she keeps guessing my coffee and gets wrong all the time. I don't mind telling my coffee order every time as i should. Food taste is still okay - I think it depends on the day. Tried here for the first time today! A decent menu with lots of exciting choices! On this visit I decided to get something light and basic so I went for the club sandwich! Where do I begin, bread toasted perfectly, juicy grilled marinated chicken, but the best part; the bacon! It was perfectly crisp! Most cafes have a habit of undercooking or adding raw bacon!

Coffee really hit the spot and it was much needed today. Great coffee art as well. There was only 2 other free tables when we came in which just goes to show the demand is there. Lots of homemade pastries too but will save that for the next visit.

Easy parking on site, great value and presentation, friendly staff and a great vibe! Will definitely be back to try...
