Went there for dinner on Feb 5, 2023. Since the house rule said they'll only hold our reservation for 10 minutes if we're late. So it was a bit stressed driving to get there, even just for a little Sunday traffic jam or red light ahead. Throughout the period of my entire dinner, their dinning area was, at it's best 30% full as observed. So this 10 minutes rule could be just vanity. Upon arrival, the front door is blocked & there's no clear sign "thru where to get to the side door", & there're water dripping down the corridor leading to the side door (so don't wear your Sunday best). It was fun to solve the puzzle anyway. Upon sitting down (we're the only customer there at the time), we found the background music was way too loud to be comfortable (didn't have my noise meter with me but my guts feeling was it could be over 90db), more like sitting next to the loud speaker of a rock concert. Need not to say even the waitress was struggling to take our order (can't help feeling sorry for her who has to endure gross negligence to OHS). We did ask the waitress to tune down the volume & she did "touched" the dial nonetheless the volume didn't change. So we ended up wearing hearing protective earplugs the entire dinner. & my wife was once angry with me becoz I was shouting to her. Counting my blessing, the food tasted good in general (a bit on the salty side) yet the potion is very small & pricy. I personally would highly recommend the "Hot Pot" & it is a good place for the ladies. But if you're a big eater, my recommendation is "stay away or bring a deep pocket". As for me ... I won't eat there ever again. PS. forgot to mention, kinda difficult to find a street parking spot. Be prepared to walk. PS 2 : reply to the owner's reply - thank you for your reply and you have a very affirmative attitude ... you could only see the positive side of things & ignored everything else. Which ... in turn, explained a lot of my questions re why you do...

My “wife” and I, (who apparently got married the night before, according to the host) was recommended this place through a friend who celebrated their anniversary here — so we thought it would be a good idea to check it out for our own 5th anniversary.
Seven Lanterns is a humble modern “Mediterrasian” style restaurant in the corner of Sylvania. We appropriately chose the 9 course celebration degustation for the occasion and was presented with a fantastic range of flavours and experiences that excited our taste buds. My favourite was “Take a Bao” — the deconstructed BBQ’d chilli marinated pork neck with lettuce and hoisin sauce, served with a super soft steamed bao bun was a delight. Hers was “The Prawn” — fresh, sweet and juicy, not overcooked or rubbery, served with a flame torched mornay sauce and topped with a honey soy glaze.
What we thought was going to be a quiet, intimate night, ended up in tears.. tears of joy and laughter because not only did a bunch of boys celebrate a mate’s 21st birthday adjacent to our table (you can imagine how rowdy that would be), but David (our host) and the waiters were so hospitable, so attentive, and catered to all our needs. David not only cracked a few jokes keep the night fun and lively, but he made sure we felt right at home.
My girlfriend and I highly recommend Seven Lanterns — whether you are looking for a cosy night in to celebrate an anniversary, or throwing a party — or simply interested in tasting the creative fusion between modern and Asian cuisine, be sure check...

While every dish I've tried has been exceptional, the wagyu and the bbq king prawn (despite David's reservations) are absolute standouts. The wagyu is cooked to perfection, melting in your mouth with its rich flavour, while the prawn is a testament to the chef's skill in balancing flavours and textures.
I highly recommend indulging in their course meals, a curated journey through the best of Seven Lanterns' culinary creations. Each course is thoughtfully crafted, showcasing the chef's creativity and expertise.
