Simple Simons Gelato Coffee House Cafe — Restaurant in Sydney

Just discovered this amazing café by the beach! The service was top-notch, and all their recommendations were spot on. We ordered the Chicken and Leek Pot Pie, Linguini with Chilli Prawn, and Chicken Mushroom Linguini.

The pot pie was a perfect choice to warm us up. It came with a fresh salad and crispy chips on the side, making it a well-balanced meal. The portion was generous, and the price was more than reasonable for what we got.

The pastas were chef’s kiss! Compliments to the chef, the ingredients didn’t overpower each other and instead created a beautifully balanced flavour. The chilli prawn pasta had fresh prawns, greens, and just the right hint of tanginess. The chicken mushroom linguini came with a creamy sauce and perfectly cooked mushrooms.

Even though the weather was cold, it didn’t stop us from ordering cold drinks. The Mango Delight truly lived up to its name, perfect for mango lovers. My personal favourites were the Banana Açaí Smoothie and the Strawberry Kiss. I expected them to be overly sweet, but they were just right exactly how we Asians like it. Not too sweet is the highest compliment we can give. We drank them down to the bottom and left completely satisfied.

Coffee and food is very nice, very recommend the chicken wrap but not happy with the service. The girl at the register didn’t know how to take the order, no hi, no how are you, no smile. I ordered chicken wrap and ask what is inside, any cheese she doesn’t know how to answered, just ask fresh or toasted. And I also ordered filo, on the name tag was show $10 but she charge me $18, when I asked why is $18 she just answer that is how we charge in here, lucky there is another girl came out said sorry and refunded for me $8 because the filo is $10. While I’m waiting for my food, she and another the staff keep looking at us and spoke in different language. I felt not...

I have been going to Simple Simon's for almost 7 years several times a week. To start, Peter and staff will begin the day with a friendly bright smile. Next, the best coffee in Sydney. And I have been to countless coffee shops in greater Sydney. The food!! The Breakfast Bruschetta is fantastic, French Toast for the sweet tooth, Smashed Avocado or any of several other items are excellent. If you can't dine in , the old favourite Bacon and Egg is a great take away option.
