1 star doesn’t do this place justice but it’s just to let a voice be heard, where do I even begin to start. Firstly the first word in “Iced long black” is ‘Ice’ so how hard is it to have what you ordered be what you get. Secondly, I don’t know what I’m paying for, not the service as there was none, not the food as everything just comes on your plate and much like a home reno it’s DIY, ‘Do it yourself’ more like ‘Don’t enjoy yourself’.”Eggs on Toast” you’d think the bread comes toasted but that’s where the DIY steps in, make sure to bring your own toaster and “AVO on Toast” makes you wonder why it comes with AVO on the side of the plate, maybe instead of chitty chatting the staff could focus on having a more accurate menu to allow people to be WARNED of what they’re wasting their hard earned (especially in this economy, but i shall come back to that) money. Charging those prices is a war crime of the highest sense, I feel as if I was waiting for gold covered food to come however to this day still disappointed of what i had to endure looking at, to say my dog eats better is an understatement,

A simple request, or do I thought, of “hard poached eggs” would be easy to understand, I guess the joke was on me though as just regular poached eggs will brought to our table, a simple fix was in order… to bad the word “service” doesn’t seem to be in the dictionary for these “people”.

In closing if you wish to have a nice breakfast please let me know as I could offer a Million that’s right a Million better places, do better for being in...

Waterside cafe owned by the Boathouse group. Visited few times and my last visit was last year. It is always quite busy with lots of groups enjoying drinks and lunch. The ambience is quite nice and location is perfect. Unfortunately food and service are not consistent quality. Sometimes food are beautiful but sometimes part of ingredients does not taste fresh or cooked poorly. They should review kitchen prep process. Basic things like herbs and fruit for the drink sometimes taste old. Also I remember that things like fish and chips tasted like fried in really old oil or overcooked . Another thing is service, the staffs there all look young and beautiful and fit but most of the time it took long time to be served and felt quite rushed. When the cafe is busy floor and tables are quite dirty and takes long time for the staffs to clean . It's ok in fast food fish and chips takeaway to have that level of service but if you are paying similar amount to sit down restaurant in the area it's not justified. Last issue but actually significant problem for me was the sitting bench (chair) of the table. They are in very awkward position and few times almost fell backward. It is not an average uncomfortable chair it's beyond that and made me to avoid visiting this place. So it would be great if the boathouse consider replacing them. I've been to Palm beach boathouse and felt that places was much better managed with better food so I'm sure the group can improve Mosman venue so that locals and visitors can enjoy the...

Firstly we got a table and had to remove the old dirty dishes and cups from previous customers after waiting 10 mins for a staff member to do which never happened.

Secondly we ordered coffees which Took 45 minutes to arrive and when they did they were poor quality.

Thirdly we ordered breakfast which after waiting 55 mins decided to ask a staff member to check on our order which suddenly seemed to be ready, when the food arrived it was absolutely stone cold.

At this stage we had decided enough was enough and we just wanted a refund and to go elsewhere.

We were informed that they were sorry they were “under the pump” which was noticeable and hardly surprising because you seemed to let greed prioritise over customer experience. The fact u let nearly 150 people in and have only one small coffee machine and a small kitchen to cater for such numbers, on top of that your doing take away and we were informed you are also taking online orders from a 3rd party system. How is anyone ever going to have a good customer experience or good service when you are completely over stretching yourselves on purpose.

Lastly as we were leaving we heard 2 other tables complaining about the exact same issues as us in a space of 30 seconds.

Completely unacceptable and will not be returning after years of accepting well below par dining experiences.

Seems as though the owners are too far removed from the buisness due to aggressive growth strategy and the customers are suffering for it.

FINAL...

⭐️ Beautiful interior design with flowers and greenery everywhere! Very nice tables with comfortable chairs, we sat on a communal table and it was very nice. The views from the platform looking out on the boats on the beach are to die for! ⭐️ We had a variety of breakfast items, all shown in the pictures with the price tags. Everything was very yummy however too much salt in all dishes from the cream on the avo toast to the mashed avo itself. Regardless everyone really enjoyed the food. We then ordered some coffee and iced chocolate and it was very smooth and fresh with a beautiful taste. The banana bread was sold out before we could get some since its so popular! Everything was so nicely presented and had big and filling portions. ⭐️ Staff were so friendly and very good service. The manager at the time was so nice and very helpful. ⭐️Prices attached in pictures. A little pricey but definitely worth the $$$. 🚫 The share plates we got were not cleaned properly and still had egg on them and the cups we grabbed with the water jug had lipstick stains on the rims. Even the toilets had toilet paper all over the floor. However the place itself in general is pretty clean and they do sanitise every single table. Overall, my family and i had a wonderful time celebrating my mom's birthday, it really is an experience in itself. Will definitely be coming back soon!

There is no table service in the cafe - even you need to search for a table which seems nearly finished, then you got to wait right beside them - often you got to fight with other group of people who came first, who sees it first etc... to get a table! Simply because the restaurant let the people to compete to each other - they don't serve people to table, you got to find one. Even you're lucky to get a table, tragedy may have not finished - you may constantly meet people who ask you to share table if your group is less than 3-4 people. It feels like you're eating in a jungle constantly watching if any enemies coming. Right, then the food is fantastic to reimburse your effort to get a table? Don't think so. They're overpriced and even taste below average - if you're after fish and chips, better choose 'bottom of the harbour' or other alternatives - good restaurants and cafes are all around, with table service and better food. This place also sells dried-up and not fresh oysters for $3.5 each and just painfully average burger for $26... (sigh). Of course they have fantastic location. But that's it - you got to fight for a table, wait for a long queue for order (as I said, no table service), and you got to bear with painfully average or below-average but overpriced food. Seriously, not again.

This review reflects our experience of the establishment during two visits one this month (July 2024) and one in 2019. We understand that others will have different views. The food is good and the portions are large. The location is unparalleled, right on the waterfront with fantastic views of the bay and Balmoral waterfront. The variety of food is good and the delivery speed is good. However, on both occassions for us, the front of house service is poor. Food can be (we did) ordered via an app at the table, meaning that staff only have to bring it to the table. On neither occassion was our food order correct and the incorrect drink sizes were provided. On our most recent visit, it has to be said that the front of house team probably couldn't have been less interested in their job or us as customers. It will be the food and location that might draw us back, now knowing the service level is below par, we'd be prepared and allow for it. For the overall experience, the prices reflect mostly location and people (us included) are clearly willing to pay for that because if it were psotioned away from the waterfront without views of the bay, the pricing would have to be changed by quite a bit to be able to reflect what's left.
