Visited this fish and chips spot near Balmoral Beach, drawn by the promise of a classic seaside meal. The location itself is beautiful, with stunning views of the beach and a casual, relaxed atmosphere perfect for a laid-back dining experience. The menu predominantly features fish and chips, which is exactly what you would expect and hope for in such a location. Additionally, they offer a variety of seafood dishes, including a seafood basket, which I decided to try. Unfortunately, my experience with the seafood basket was underwhelming. The basket included an assortment of seafood items like prawns, calamari, and fish pieces. However, the taste was very average and lacked the vibrant flavors one would expect from fresh seafood. The batter on the seafood was quite bland, and there was a noticeable lack of seasoning. Each bite felt like it was missing something – perhaps a touch of lemon, some herbs, or even just a bit more salt and pepper to elevate the flavors. The calamari rings, which should be tender and slightly chewy, were overcooked and rubbery. The prawns, usually a highlight in any seafood dish, were similarly disappointing, lacking the natural sweetness and succulence that makes them so enjoyable. The fish pieces, the star of the basket, were also quite bland and didn’t have the crispy, golden exterior that makes fish and chips so satisfying. The chips themselves were decent, though not exceptional. They were cooked to a nice crispiness but didn’t stand out as particularly special or memorable. A good fish and chips experience relies heavily on both the fish and the chips being top-notch, and this spot seemed to miss the mark on both counts. Overall, while the location near Balmoral Beach is undeniably picturesque and perfect for a casual meal, the food left much to be desired. The seafood basket, in particular, was average at best and lacked the flavor and excitement I was hoping for. There is potential for this place to shine, but a bit more attention to seasoning and cooking techniques would go a long way in improving the dining experience. For now, I would recommend exploring other dining options in the area if you are looking for a more flavorful and satisfying seafood meal.

Their seafood is always fresh, and their grilled salmon is cooked to perfection each and every time. The salt and pepper squid is really tasty too. I also love their oysters and prawn box. They do get very busy, so there's almost always a bit of a wait. But they do try to get the food out as quickly as possible. The only complaint is that they've short changed and overcharged us a few times. Update: I feel like their quality have dropped. Still okay. But the quality and quantity no longer match the price. Most of what you get is chips.

A good fish & chip shop right opposite Balmoral Beach. We ordered the Battered Ocean Perch & the Salt & Pepper Squid with chips. The fish was lovely with a lovely crispy light batter. The squid was just ok but I wouldn't order it again in future. Even though there were a lot of customers on this busy weekend they had a very good system & the food was delivered quite quickly. There is also outdoor covered seating which is nice as you are out of the sun & you don't need to deal with marauding divebombing seagulls swooping onto your food.

Paying more than $65 for our meal of two Balmoral burgers, two smoothies and a Fisherman’s basket, we expected at least a decent meal and was extremely disappointed with what we were given. The staff were very nice, however, the lady at the cashier was hard to understand and didn’t explain our order very well. The burgers we received were bland, and had no seasoning whatsoever. The beetroot was like hard jelly, the meat was dry, our burger was flooded with tomato sauce, the buns were uneven, the burger was full of lettuce, and the burger was put together terribly. The burgers were a mess and were too big to bite. We expected at least something decent for the Fisherman’s basket, but what we got disappointed us further. Our fries with calamari and fish was tremendously bland with no seasoning - only the fries were fine. The meal was unpleasant and we were only satisfied with the milkshakes. The tables outside were very dirty and we had to clean them ourselves. Sorry, but we‘re not...

Way way over priced. Order the classic burger was asked if I wanted chips said yes. I asked for some bbq sauce for the chips to be told they don’t do bbq for chips just do for burgers ??? What the???? When order was ready there was no chips to which I was told I hadn’t paid for them, told them was asked if wanted them said yes. Had been chargerd $25.45 for burger and drinks. Didn’t worry about chips and I’m glad. It was the worst burger would have been better going to maccas. Wasn’t just my order that was stuffed up. My mate asked for grilled fish and was given crumbed. Told her she had to pay more. She waited for a good 5-10mins for a new piece of fish that was small, grey in colour and looked very oily. Will never go there again or recommend going there..:will recommend people don’t go. All of the stuff were...
