Reading the comments of last 6 month I have realised I got the same complaint about surcharge I got today. Weekend and public holiday surcharges are legal in Australia. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission allow cafes and restaurants to add a surcharge on weekends and public holidays as long as it is PROMINENTLY DISCLOSED UPFRONT. ( this is NOT in this venue ) As I couldn't find any email to make it more formal , I contacted via inatagram and somebody replaid ; " Ok so on Sundays there is a 10% Surcharge it is listed on our menu and the itemised bill." I don't think somebody is looking for surcharges on a menu you look for food you want to eat but you already know that, don't you? I replid to IG KazI Beach Greek that 10% surcharge you could fix the leak in the roof of the terrace, she replaid that "no need to be nasty" EXUCSE ME but more disgasting is the drops from the leak felling into the glass of water we had my partner and myself. What bothers here is that Kazzi Beach Greek charges you a supertax/surcharge without first notifying you in a transparent manner. Legaly you shouldn't coast that since it is NOT disclosed upfront. I cannot click on 3 ☆ because it is not ok , so 1☆ SERVICE 5☆ Atmosphere is because of the beach Consequently Balmoral beach 5☆ * Fix the lick in the terrace ( The exhaust tube ) * Making the surcharges transparent speaks well of the values that Kazzi Greek might have and you avoid a negative experience for people on a nice, sunny day at Balmoral Beach.

Aged salad with cockroach- disgusting! We went on recommendation to Kazzi for my birthday. I ordered the grilled prawns with the halloumi and fig salad. When the meal arrived the salad looked aged and the prawns were dry, chewy and tasteless. I salted and lemoned them and wanted to enjoy the experience in any event. However what happened next made this impossible. Toward the end of my meal I noticed there was a cockroach in my salad - it looked either fried or drowned in oil. I spat the food out of my mouth! Disgusting! I was shocked and could barely speak. When I whispered to the waitress there was a cockroach in my salad she ignored me and I thought perhaps she had not heard me. I realised later that she had heard. No one came to assist. As we awkwardly stood waiting eventually the manager said quietly that had all been taken care of. It was clear he wanted me to leave as quickly and quietly as possible. I wasn’t charged but I was not in the same position as when I had arrived. I felt sick and in shock. The rest of my day was ruined. This was a very distressing and disgusting experience. I would not wish this experience on anyone. Post script. The owner’s response below is untrue and false. It is aimed at discrediting the review with false statements about me and the events and distracting from the serious health issue.

Okay flavor but the portion is for ants. Lives around and family and friends love this place and told us the calamari is amazing. When we got there, other customers told me that they were not taking more order coz too busy. So i checked with staff if they still have calamari and they helped us ordered it with Greek salad and this costed $38 including surcharges. I was shocked when i saw this portion, it looks like scrap from the fryer (but still taste pretty good tho and that's why 2 stars instead of one star). It's totally fine if they told me they couldn't take anymore order or explained they don't have enough calamari. I would accept it even if they made it up with chips or extra salad. But they took my order without saying anything and gave me this. Nothing else need to be said, won't come back for this scam again.

We were really looking forward to dinner here and we had been since pre Covid ... and all those in our group wish we hadn't bothered ... It was simply terrible ... regardless of whether it was just a bad night .. when you're offering a dining service there shouldn't be any bad nights, we weren't charged any less for the terrible service ..terrible atmosphere and terrible food... Let's start with the atmosphere ... being seated on a public footpath between the restaurant and lines of take away customers lining up to the right to order and then to the left to collect ...and that were waiting a good half an hour to collect ... we know because we were waiting even longer .. and the street... is hardly warm and enticing ... This rustic ambience was complimented by the take away customers complaining endlessly how long their orders were taking and the table of four dining behind us with their three full size dogs that barked every time another dog walked past (we were seated on the footpath remember ). But there's more.... every ten minutes a waiter would walk out and shout at the take away customers to stand back because they were blocking the footpath .. Now for the service ... terrible ... bland ...impolite ... inattentive ... as bad as the environment.. Every 15 minutes someone would come to tell us our food was "On its way" .. how do we know it was every 15 ... because they came four times to tell us as we waited for over an hour for our main meals to arrive .. There's two things worse than waiting for over an hour between entrees and mains to eat ...being told your food is on the way and seeing tables that arrived and ordered after you get their food before you and this place nailed both ! Now for the food itself ... for Greek food it was at best ordinary ... I know I'm Greek .. have eaten at most Greek restaurants in Sydney and this was well and truly the worst of any including the local Greek Yeros shops .. over rated when I read any of the best reviews ... Finally value .. take $80 per person. to the beach across the road and burn it in a BBQ ... that's better value than this place ... Anyone else who has in any way had a positive experience at this restaurant was either really lucky or is very very easily satisfied ..seriously it...

Hopeless service.

Ordered takeaway hot chips and octopus. Told to wait outside as takeaway orders will be called out by staff. Waited at least 15 minutes for the call and observed multiple takeaway orders after mine already served.

Went inside to enquire where I was placed in the queue. Young waitress said without checking that I am in the queue. I explained to her that I had been waiting for at least 15 minutes, which prompted her to check with the lady serving the food behind the counter if my name was in their queue. In a tone laced with attitude, the lady rudely told me that they had been calling my name for a while, my order was gone since I had not come to pick up my food and they would have to make it again. I explained to her that I had been waiting outside as instructed and no one called out my name.

Keep in mind that it is not hard to miss the call when staff have been shouting out names. My friend also did not hear our order being called.

The rude lady passed our issue onto another staff member who was calm and apologised that there had been a mix up and someone else had taken our meal.

He organised for the food to be cooked again, but unfortunately got the size of the order wrong. We paid approx. $33 for a small box of hot chips and only 1 piece of octopus. Unfortunately, we only checked this after we left the restaurant and did not have the energy to go back to deal with this second issue again after how the first issue unfolded.

Suffice to say this whole encounter left me with a lost appetite and a sour experience of poor service.

Overall, I do not recommend and will...
