Skittle Lane Bondi — Restaurant in Sydney

I was always hearing how good is the coffee here, and I live just around the corner and wanted to give it a try for the first time today. As soon as I went it the barista/cashier that greeted us was super stressed and was taking our order like interrogating us. I wanted to buy 2 coffees and a bag of espresso beans, she kept asking me if I want my beans with “milk” I have no idea how that works. I couldn’t understand her after asking 5-6 times, I said no worries I can get it next time. And I gave my name for the order “John” after a while another barista called “John” or at least thats what I heard. When I went in to get my coffee she was looking at me like I am stupid and I was asking her which ones are my coffees, only after I asked she asked in a really mean wag like she is talking to a kid “ARE YOU SHAWN???” and I said I am John and she said “SO ITS NOT YOURS!” very sassy. As soon as I turn my back to go wait for my turn she shouted “John” in 5-10 seconds so my coffee was also there. I don’t why would they treat people like this. I love Skittle Lane as a brand—their coffee is excellent, and the design is beautiful. The Manly location is absolutely amazing, which made me excited to live basically in front of Skittle Lane Bondi. Unfortunately, the experience here has been consistently disappointing.

On my recent visit, I had to repeat my order three times because the barista wasn’t understanding me, yet she gave me an unpleasant look as if I was the problem. I stepped away briefly, only to return and find both of my coffees made incorrectly. When I asked for them to be fixed, she looked even more annoyed and simply added more milk to the wrong drinks instead of remaking them.

This isn’t an isolated incident. The Asian lady has been rude to me and my boyfriend multiple times. The service is consistently slow, and the atmosphere is sad because of it.

It’s sad to see such a great brand with high-quality coffee and a beautiful space being let down by poor service. I much rather walk more everyday to Blackwood than keep trying Skittle Lane and being...

Here, since the owners left to take their modesty to the masses, they're just lost. The queues are still there, and the prices reach for a market supremacy that the product lacks. The guy taking the order shows all the care and enthusiasm of a 15 year old anorexic cat walk model...(except with them, I gather that's a good thing). Picking up the $6 small coffee, I'm completely ignored. The display pastries look as tired as a long covid patient, and sadly turn out to be a promise kept. Emerging from its paper coffin, it's dull and flat. The coffee, ordered strong, is flatteringly described as gentle. Come back boys, sort things out...
