Very rude manager welcoming people to the restaurant. The guy with the beard and man bun seems to think he is doing a favour by allowing you to dine on the footpath at the restaurant. After spending $300 here for 4 people, and only 45 mins I left really disappointed, and hungry. I actually couldn't wait to leave. When I complained but insisted to pay full bill (as I did) the manager tried to argue saying he's never had anyone complain. I told him ok, I was the first one but I bet I really wasn't the first as he's so intimidating to other customers. I just wanted to explain that the food and experience was poor. Food was worse than poor. The base of the pizza was OK, but wet so this led to a very sloppy pizza, meaning I couldn't eat it like a normal pizza and needed to use a spoon. Toppings were minuscule and the ham tasted still frozen. I think it actually was frozen when it arrived at the table. When they came to clear the table and ask how the food was I showed them that my dogs wouldn't even eat the disgusting pizza that I put on the floor for them and I thought the topping were all frozen. The only response was shoving the eftpos machine in my face. Very rude and not keen to improve service. There are more appreciative places deserving of your money in Bondi. The wine glass I was given was also chipped... for $300 a table can't they afford to have safe glasses - I nearly cut myself on it - see picture. I paid promptly and left. This place will survive because of all the Bondi 'beautiful people' that want to take selfies and be charged a fortune for a really poor experience, but at a 'vibey' location. If you are a sheep, this may be the place for you, but genuine foodies and people who like good service won't come back here, no question. Anyone who genuinely wants good pizza and wine and a nice atmosphere, don't go to Society, pick somewhere else. You'll have a better night.

All grown up, since leaving the tiny 2 table pre-school on bondi road, this place goes like a train (you know, a functional, fast one in another country). Thing is, to put it bluntly I feel like the only person not laughing in a crowded cinema. We all love the salty-sour crust of a good dough, pumped through a wood fired oven. Here's where this place gets 2 of its points. The crust has the tear we love, and the flavour profiles. The limp, wet centre is not unusual for this style, though this example is particularly drenched. A firmer sugo would help. From here, it's only the positive reports of the gluten free crust and good drinks service and ambience that gets us over the hump to 3*. The two pizzas I try are mediocre and particularly poor. The promise of porcini mushrooms seems to have been realised at least partially with champignons, with all the character of a lymph node. If there are real porcini here, they're not identifiable. The promised chilli isn't. And the rocket salad is strictly supermarket grade, and diminutive to add insult. I get that produce is as hard to find as staff. It's a tough time. 3 small pizzas, 1 salad, 2 drinks $122 is fine for a grown up restaurant. These guys are struggling with the entrance exam.

Came here a week ago. Was pretty popular and had to wait a little while to get in! The inside was nicely furnished and was pretty full. The restaurant itself was quite small but it didn’t feel too cramped or claustrophobic! The staff were also very patient, attentive and friendly and service was very good! There’s also a bathroom in the restaurant, if needed! The food was really good. We had the: - porcini and truffle arancini: pretty nice, the filling had a good taste and texture (pretty unique, compared to normal arancini). It also came with a sauce similar to aioli - squid ink linguini: highly recommend!! Definitely different to your normal pasta; the squid ink was a nice touch and the pasta was cooked well - penne bolognese: nice, but nothing particularly special - daviola pizza: personally, this wasn’t my sort of pizza, mainly due to the spiciness of it - porchetta pizza: a “different” pizza, this was quite nice, with an interesting flavour. Would recommend this one :)

I come to Bondi annually for a month -just myself and my 7yr old daughter.

I asked if I could have a table outside because of the noise and her “autism”.

Owner seemed overwhelmed, A little annoyed but went out of his way to accomodate.

That night. We spent over $250. Had a lovely time.

Tonight we returned for desert: Again, I requested an empty out door table (there were 3 available), so that my daughter could have a peaceful desert, while I ordered a lovely glass of red -which I could have gone on to order 3-4 more!

HOWEVER, when I went to the bathroom, I came back and a waiter had taken my chair; there were two other available chairs.

When I asked to order a garlic pizza to go, the owner said, “as long as it’s to go because I have to fill that table” I said “no problem” but then he was pushy and said “I have to fill that table and you have to make sure it’s to go..”

“Oookaaaay”

When he finally delivered my garlic pizza in a box, with an annoyed look on his face, I asked, “is it OK if I finish my ($15) glass of wine before I leave?” He gave me permission to finish my wine.

At this point, no one was waiting for a table. I was happy to purchase a bottle because the wine was so lovely.

But instead, my chair was taken without my knowledge or consent when my wine glass was 2/3rds full and there were 2 empty ones at the table, I was asked to hurry up and leave and to when I confronted him about his “lack of hospitality and the $300, I had spent in two visits there...” he ignored me and turned his back, while another waiter fobbed me off and said “but we have to fill tables.

There were empty tables

Do not order the ice-cream with chocolate sauce if you have a nut allergy.

I went here for my birthday and we ordered pizzas and pasta as our main. Then we ordered dessert and my friend who is allergic to nuts, couldn't eat the Nutella pizza because it contained hazelnuts so I told her she could order something else and she chose the ice cream with 'chocolate sauce'. We asked the server if the chocolate sauce contained nuts and he went to ask the manager. He came back saying that the manager said and I quote "there are no nuts in the sauce." So when the ice creams arrived, all my friends and I tasted the chocolate sauce drizzled over the ice cream and we all said that it definitely tasted like Nutella but apparently the manager said it contains no nuts. Luckily, my friend is not anaphylactic but she has mild reactions to nuts like her lips and tongue swell up and get itchy and when she ate the ice-cream... she got those symptoms. We complained to the same manager who told us there were no nuts saying that it was Nutella and she asked the chef or someone in the kitchen if it was and she came back to us saying "It was Nutella but I didn't think hazelnut was an actual nut." She said a lot more but this situation really infuriated me because imagine if my friend had a much more severe allergy or if someone else with a deadly allergy had ordered it. They need to be much more specific on the menu and know their food better because hazelNUT is clearly a nut. Very disappointed with the level of incompetence here and respectfully will not be coming back. I would like to add that they refunded all Nutella items we ate that evening but it does not make up for what could have been a...
