Excited to have Da Orazio back at its rightful place. Although the decor has changed to bare minimalist, the food is exceptional and the service attentive and warm. Our family of 4 enjoyed the Figliata Caprese Heirloom Tomato Basil ($26) as a starter. The huge ball of creamy Figliata cheese and freshly picked fresh basil elevated this simple dish. Close your eyes and you're seated at your favourite trattoria in Italy. Also devoured was the Chick Peas Mussels Escabeche Carasau ($20). We had the gnocchi with truffles as a special main ($32), together with what is surely the 'star of the show', Focaccia con Porchetta ($38). The chocolate-filled mini donuts lasted seconds - their lemon notes characteristic of Amalfi Coast sweet delights (what a surprise!), and the coffees were fantastic as always. Some soft drinks rounded out the bill to about $160. The quality of the food was second to none; the service was outstanding. What I like to see in a restaurant is a smile when you walk in, and a smiling waiter as he/she presents dishes to the table. Such was the delight of one of our servers, his smile was so broad as he delivered the dishes to our table. A passionate waitperson - bravo! We booked for 12.30pm and were in no way rushed to leave as the room filled. I was happy to leave a tip, and there wasn't a single person involved in our experience who didn't deserve applause. Well done, all! We were converts when you were operating previously, now we're devotees (all over again). Can not wait to repeat...
Read moreI Can’t believe I’ve never reviewed this joint.
Of all the years Ive been coming here!
Use to be my go to place with my son for pizza on a Monday night some time ago. He use to go to the kitchen and make his own pizza. For some reason he’d always save a little corner of his pizza for dad that had mushrooms on it. He was super young at the time so how did he know dad liked 🍄?? 😉
can’t tell you how many times I’ve eaten here …….more times than ive had sex? Probably not but still……a close second 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The welcome when ya walk in is old school Italian vibe. Nothing like it in bondi. I mean nothing!
Nowadays my go to dish is the Orazio spicy vodka rigatoni with the side of broccolini garlic, chilli and a lovely Malbec. And wash it down with a clean mezcal !
Man o man…..this joint just puts a massive smile on my face, especially when I’ve closed my own restaurant and want to chill at the bar post work.
this joint is the bomb!
Thx to all the team over the years.

Read moreI haven’t been to Da Orazio since it reopened, so the experience between the two restaurants was so different.
The interior is so great, minimal, a bit of colour and follows a visually appealing. It felt warm, but the space is definitely big enough for you to have your own moment with your dinner date/s.
The service was really good, staff so attentive and nice. They were just the right amount of attentive, not hovering over you, but not disappearing for long periods of time.
The food was delicious, my favourite was the focaccia, but the pizza was essentially just as good. The food felt as though you could keep eating and walk away feeling good, not bloated and gross - further speaking to its quality.
It’s Sydney, so it’s not going to be cheap. But we all left feeling full and with leftovers so I would say it was not ridiculously priced.
Would definitely...
