Spice Temple of Bukhara — Restaurant in Sydney

Disappointing experience after reading good reviews. We rang 20 mins before we arrived to check if the restaurant was BYO or licensed (no clarification or drinks menu on the website), to be told it was BYO for beers and wine. No problem, quick trip to Dan Murphy's along the street and we were sorted.

Once at the table though we asked for a bottle opener only to be told that the wine was ok but not the beers. How could this be? Apparently the person on the phone and told us incorrect information. They did however have a drinks menu, so the DMs trip was a waste of time and money.

The food was ordered as one medium spice and one mild spice. 2 meals came out exactly the same medium spiced, therefore making it too hot for one person.

1 rice each was ordered, yet one came nearly 10 minutes after the rest of the food, why?

Service was a bit all over the shop with different wait staff looking after the same tables, like buses you wouldn't see one for ages then 3 came within 5 minutes of each other.

Bit of a shame as the food for the one meal that was correct was...

Ordered pickup meal on a Saturday night (& saved 10% versus free delivery). Would have loved to eat in but unfortunately, Covid19 put that wish away. Ordered chicken tikka, beef vindaloo, garlic naan & Kari legume (a mixed vegetables dish). The food was fantastic & authentic Indian as you can get outside of India. We will definitely order again from Spice Temple of Bukhara & hopefully next time, it will be an in-dining experience. I would also like to add that we should all make an effort to support our local restaurants during this very difficult time by ordering their respective cuisines either online...

Spice Temple of BUKARA at Caringbah is no doubt the best indian food in the Sutherland Shire. Nice atmosphere. The chef/owner is always there to please and is very approachable and pleasant. No complaints about the quality and taste of the food served. You can be sure to finish your plates with no leftovers. All the dishes are exceptionally very good as I have tried everything on the menu. I often go there with my friends and family. Good value for money. All dishes are at a reasonable price for what it is worth. I recommend that restaurant to anyone looking for the best...
