Booked ahead via the app (which I found very convenient). When we arrived there was a sign saying wait to be seated but not a staff member in sight. Waited patiently. No one. So my wife and daughter joined an extremely long line to a nearby counter while I went to the bar. There was also a long queue at the bar. Just as it was almost my turn to be served, the barserver left and another started again just down the bar. We moved across, although I was now at the end of the queue again. Got there and asked about our table. He told me he didn't know about that and said he would get a manager. I went back to the entrance and waited. The manager finally arrived, about 15 minutes after we had first walked through the door. By now my wife and daughter were second from the counter, which was apparently where you order food. The manager took us out of the queue and to our table. I said "Surely you don't expect us to get in that queue again?" especially given how much they had already made us wait. BUT SHE DID!!!!!!! I had thought she would take our order as their poor service had already wasted so much time. No. Anyway, we chose what we wanted, rejoined the queue <sigh> and eventually ordered. This experience ruined my night. I was quite agitated by the time we settled in. My wife and I had chicken schnitzel, which I found a little dry. My daughter had Greek kebabs which she said were slightly overcooked. I tasted one of her kebabs and felt it was burnt. My wife and daughter ordered cocktails. These were apparently superb. Overall I found the place noisy and crowded. The decor was pleasant.

I've been so excited to try this new establishment in the Shire. Highfield was created by the Ferros Group and was so called because Highfield was the original name of Caringbah, the suburb this pub is in. The location is great, the view is awesome, the security guard, Tony is by far the best team member there (the rest of the team didn't even look at me, let alone say hello). I only went to the Botanical Bar up on the top floor. It's cool, breezy and comfortable. A really good space! The menu looks really good, I chose the pumpkin and goats cheese salad and unfortunately was pretty disappointed with it. The choice of salad leaf was that yukky, bitter, weed like lettuce. There was no dressing on it and hardly any of the toppings. The Walnut granola was almost impossible to find but tasty when I could find it. I was expecting so much more from a Ferros establishment restaurant ( like the Rocksia). I'm keen to go back again but definitely won't be choosing the healthy options...

Dined a little while ago at The Botanical (rooftop inside Highfield in Caringbah). While the atmosphere was lovely, the food was average across the board. We indulged in a variety of dishes including steak, ribs, burgers, pizza, and chicken schnitzel, but none really stood out as exceptional. The steak was decent, but it lacked that wow factor, and the ribs were tough not tender and not as flavourful as we'd hoped. The burgers and pizza were satisfying. The chicken schnitzel was crispy. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience, but I was hoping for a bit more excitement from each dish. 🍔🍕🥩 If you're in the area, it’s worth a visit for the vibe, but keep your expectations in check!

Last weekend we hosted our engagement party at Highfield Caringbah. The service was so astoundingly impressive, that I have to write about the two most important ones who made our day fantastic.

Glen: I knew as soon as I called him to enquire about the venue, that this would be the one we would pick. Glen was fantastic, and patiently answered every question we had. On the day itself, he helped us set up, troubleshoot all technical challenges we had (to a great success!), actioned every small thing we asked about, and more. He made sure that our elderly family members were being taken care of, and went out of his way to provide for any of their needs. Glen made sure that I was able to eat on the day (I am so grateful that he did!), and he introduced himself to our parents at the end. I truly have to apologise for my mother-in-law; who expressed regret to him that she didn't have anyone to set him up with (she found you so charming!).

Bella: We could not have asked for a better, or more proactive events manager. Bella was wonderful — she always replied to every question I had, had the most beautiful energy on the day, and constantly checked in to make sure everything was going to plan. She made sure that our area stayed smoke-free, kept our event private without seeming closed off, and even printed out the food and beverage menu for guests. They thought we did that ourselves! She even helped us with pack down and was so considerate regarding helping us finish the day off so we could thank and say goodbye to every — and I mean every — friend and family member.

Absolutely every guest enjoyed the day, and we received endless compliments about the food, the service, the venue atmosphere, and the kindness of the staff. If I was to ever hold another event in the Sutherland Shire, it would ONLY be at Highfield Caringbah. Another amazing plus — we live outside of the area, and organising the event through phone and email was seamless and easy!

Thank you so much for making our...

Booked a table on the weekend to celebrate my birthday with some friends. I come here quite often and usually enjoy the venue. Not last night. While waiting for my first drink at the bar I was rudely asked by a staff member by the name of Chloe to move because she was serving someone who was ‘in front’ of us. I was a bit confused as we had already ordered and were just waiting for our drinks. We moved out of the way and then went back to our table. About 40 minutes later we walked up to order a second drink and the same girl (who by the way wasn’t serving us) yelled at us across the bar in front of other paying customers and told us we were to be escorted out by security.

On the way back to the table a manager stopped us and asked what happened because the staff member said she felt uncomfortable. We explained the situation and she said “sorry about that. Thanks for letting me know, I’ll have a chat to her”.

Clearly the girl wasn’t happy that she didn’t get what she wanted so went to another manager, changed the story and said we abused her. This manager then came over, accused us for being abusive to her staff members and kicked us out. If you actually look back at the security footage you will see that we didn’t even speak to her. We were just chatting waiting for our cocktails to be made by another staff member. The girl clearly has something going on in her personal life and shouldn’t be taking it out on paying customers.

I am absolutely disgusted and appalled at the way the situation was handled and how I was treated. The girl abused us and then we were kicked out. Clearly discriminating against our gender and age. So much for a nice enjoyable birthday night out. I had 2 drinks and didn’t even get to eat my dinner. I won’t be returning...
