Sushi Concept — Restaurant in Sydney

• Update October 2024 * Still agree with my previous review, the salmon sashimi still slaps ! Additionally, I was able to try the teriyaki salmon bowl and ramens (spicy tonkotsu & karaage chicken) this visit.

🍣 Salmon sashimi - trust me, it’s good 😊 🐟 Teriyaki Salmon bowl - good balance of ingredients, salmon not dry, could do with more veg. Lots of textures at play & visually pleasing. 🌶️ Spicy Tonkotsu ramen - broth just the right amount of spicy, good QQ on noodles but only one pork slice. 🍗 Karaage Chicken ramen - v crispy fried chicken and decent portion, QQ noodles & nice broth. As other reviews said, the karaage chicken portion is huge!

I would highly recommend the salmon sashimi as it was super fresh and delicious. The scallop special roll and prawn tempura roll were also yummy too.

Unfortunately, the indoor seating felt a little cramped and there were two troublesome kids seats adjacent to our table which made the experience slightly less pleasant. The air freshner was also right behind my head so it was a very intense scent. However, I can overlook the vibes for the salmon...

We have eaten here once before, perhaps when the restaurant first opened. It was fresh and pleasant. This time we went there and the experience was very different. The people in the kitchen were swearing excessively and were so loud. A guy came to clear a table and practically threw plates back on to the table to reset it, meanwhile continuing a loud conversation with the kitchen staff.

My husbands dinner came, edamame was very undercooked, but the rice and chicken was nice and tasty. When my food arrived, the salmon in some of my nigiri looked questionable. I proceeded but didn’t complete the meal. Not 10mins after I ate we abruptly left as I was pretty violently sick. I vomited all of my dinner up in moments after our quick exit.

I can almost guarantee this Restuarant has changed hands as this was not the same restaurant we experienced previously. Really disappointing and...

We've supported Sushi Concept since they opened. It was my daughter's 6th birthday today and she'd been asking all week to go to Sushi Concept for dinner.

Overall, the food was fine (although my ramen was bland) but what we didn't quite understand is why they wanted to charge us $0.50 for a takeaway container for our leftovers when we paid almost $100 for a meal for two adults and two kids.

When I asked the owner, she became very aggressive very quickly, telling us if we go anywhere else in Sydney they'd charge us for a container too. This is completely incorrect... just last week we went to cafe which gave us two containers for FREE, presumably because they'd want us to go back there. She was incredibly rude.

We'll not go back to this restaurant and will mention the poor service to other...
