Had dinner here with a mate and the entrees were quite delicious, however, the mains (pho) were unfortunately very disappointing. We were here about an hour from them closing so it may have contributed to its quality, but it was a very sad bowl of noodles and soup.
Before this though, we had the salt and pepper pork, which was pretty good and delicious, as well as spring rolls. They were cooked very well and set us up expecting the same for the pho. When it arrived a few minutes after we finished eating, we could immediately tell that it was all frozen. The noodles were still very clumpy and tasted very artificial, and the soup was average at best. The amount of beef was also embarrassing, and added more salt to the wound unfortunately. I had high hopes after delicious entrees, and we weren’t able to finish up the phos by the end of it.
They’re a family business though so I’m happy I could support them, but would be much better for all to see the pho’s...
Read moreI ate at The Ha Noi Restaurant during lunch and it was a complete letdown. The food was cold, bland, and clearly not fresh. I ordered the Hanoi special rolls and noodles — both were tasteless and poorly made.
On top of that, the hygiene was awful. I saw a staff member wipe down a table, then immediately handle food with bare hands. No gloves, no handwashing — just careless and unhygienic.
I was just about to rate 1 star because I had already spoken to them in person about these issues, but it seems like they don’t want peace or to improve. I gave them a chance to acknowledge the problems, but they clearly didn’t care.
After I posted my review, they rudely replied saying I was never their customer. I’ve seen them do this to others too, denying any bad feedback instead of taking responsibility. That’s dishonest, disrespectful, and shows zero professionalism. Own your mistakes instead of...
Read moreI've been wanting to try The Hanoi for some time and finally I tried take away. What a let down. The Vietnamese rice paper rolls were bland it was just shredded lettuce and frozen prawn. My laksa was disappointing (The Mills laksa soup tastes better) the veggies in laksa were raw and hard and the chicken was old and tough. I'm comparing this experience to my experience at another Vietnamese restaurant Hello Auntie in Darling Square. I'd suggest to the chef and owners to improve the quality of food as it's just not that good. It's not super bad but definitely can be better. Mind you I did try take away (maybe nicer when eating at the restaurant?) But based on my takeaway I won't be back to eat here. Maybe the chef and owner visit Hello Auntie for some...
