A Disappointing Sushi Experience Shushi Katsu
I recently visited shushi katsu. hoping for a pleasant sushi experience, but unfortunately, it turned out to be quite the opposite. After placing the order online at 4:30pm I arrived at 4:50pm and noticed my food in front of the counter top. I got home 10min later opened up my order ( a shashmi platter and nigiri platter) and noticed fish had an unpleasant smell and taste, indicating it was far from fresh and the fish was warm. After taking a few hesitant bites, I decided it was safer not to finish the meal.
To make matters worse, I called back to shushi katsu to notify them that the sushi seemed off, they were dismissive and unhelpful, offering no apology or effort to remedy the situation. Their lack of care for customer health and safety & satisfaction was shocking. I was not seeking a refund but genuinely concerned for the health and safety of others. I spoke to the front receptionist then Leo (the owner) his wife who would not disclose her name when I asked for it. All shifting the blame to me and that it was all made fresh both ladies were confident it was made fresh and only took 5min. Which was fine but when I asked was my food left on the front counter after it was made they said yes but they do this all the time. When asked maybe this is where they have gone wrong they did not want to hear it.
Overall, my experience was very disappointing. Poor quality sushi and subpar service made for an unpleasant experience and I certainly won't be returning. If you're looking for fresh, well-prepared sushi with good service, I recommend...
Read moreWent at about 5pm, was not a lot of variety, portions were really small and rolls were poorly wrapped and didn’t stay together. Each roll didn’t have a lot filling (chicken, crab, tuna, etc), but big chucks of avocado or cucumber. Staff were polite, and price wise, charged a little less than what most sushi trains do, but was not worth it for such small and poorly made sushi. After reading such good reviews and having high hopes, I was left disappointed. Should have gone to where I normally go- sushi on fire...
Read moreIt seems that all reviews on this place are done by family or friends. There are many restaurants surrounding this place that were full of patrons. Yet sushi Katsu was dead empty. I made an order from The menu and it took more that 5 minutes for The chef to even prepare it! This is ridiculous considering there was no one else there. The food was dull and tasteless. To say this venue was a far cry from what the previous reviews have stated would be a drastic...
