The Alcott — Restaurant in Sydney

I would give zero star if I could but the beef skewers were nice. The rest of the food was average.

We came here for our friends' pre wedding celebration which should have positive vibe. The staffs seem like they hate their jobs, especially the bar staff. The receptionists weren't welcoming, they were condescending and rude. No one said please, no one gave us direction to the function. They just order you around and gave attitude when we ask for clarification.

The bar ran out of long island at 7.30pm but somehow got long island again near 10pm. We had to get the watermelon margaritas. Each margaritas has different colors despite them being the same drink. I casually mentioned it to my partner but a bartender responded in a rude tone and gesture saying "it's just in a different glass". First of all, I was not talking to her and second of all, different glass doesn't change the colour of the drink. We were just made to feel so unwelcomed. It's ashame considering how much my friends would have had to pay to celebrate their special time there. I would not come here...

Extremely happy! We had our son's 21st family get together of 22 people here and could not fault anything from the planning, communication, room, food & drink and service on the night. The staff were friendly and fantastic. Double checking on the food order for one of our allergy guests, checking on when we wanted the food and cake to come out, quick bar service on a busy night. All our guests had a great night and commented on the great food and room. We will definitely be back and highly recommend The Alcott for special events.

As an update to this review, given how happy we were with our last event, we didn't hesitate to book again and celebrate our other son's 21st at The Alcott 2 weeks ago, (and 2 years later). Again, everything from communication to the food and service on the night was outstanding. It was excellent value for money and we really appreciated the staff continually checking that we were happy and satisfied on the night. Thanks for making our special events easy...

Recently re-opened after COVID, my partner and I returned for a meal last night. We have been many times before and have had wonderful meals. The only reason why it's 3 stars is because my meal was not what i was expecting. There was three of us (2 adults & 1 child). The chicken burger was nice and the kids meal looked great however i got the 'wagyu' rump steak ($35) which unfortunately was not very good. It was just a tough old boot (and in all honesty undercooked, i asked for medium and it was medium rare and slightly bloody).. in addition the whole meal was too rich with the mushrooms and wine jus. The dish needed a 'lifter'. I could of told staff it was under however i was hungry and didn't want to cause a fuss. I understand the whole COVID thing however that shouldn't effect the quality of the proper main meals.

We will return however this is just an honest review. The staff are fantastic and we always enjoy our time...
