This is my first time having to write a review about a place, this is mainly to inform others in the hope that they don’t go through the same experience that I and a buddy of mine did.
We ordered mostly of what you can on $0 cost items that comes included with the buffet entree fee, we choose laksa and chicken soup, raw items like prawns, pipis beef and lamb, ‘no pork’, we made sure they were cooked well and long enough. Spent about an hr there finishing our meals and washing it all down with some fruits that they had available.
About 3 hrs later my stomach wasn’t feeling so well and I sat in the toilet having the runs for the next few hrs, during that time I constantly had to revisit the toilet and didn’t want to move around as much from the upset stomach, I took a pill to make me drowsy to help sleep it off, I was still feeling unwell the next day. Unfortunately my buddy suffered the same, she started feeling sick in the early hrs of the morning however, her symptoms were worst she constantly threw up with major stomach pains and issues, she also suffered from a lack of focus and feeling constant nausea. We both had to take the next day off of work in recovery.
It was our first and last time eating there, if I could say anything positive about the place is that the atmosphere was friendly and the staff were nice, all together though, nothing can justify having...
Read moreI really enjoyed my experience dining at Hot Pot Palace. The reason for the 4 stars is we didn’t get seated till half an hour after our reservation time of 7:30pm. Staff were friendly and apologetic for the delay so we weren’t too annoyed about it.
Late start to dinner but it was worth it in the end.
Tom Yum broth is a must! Really flavourful and creamy, I am usually a spicy broth lover (which was also nice), but the Tom yum was really exceptional!
Once you’re seated, you scan a QR code to order from your phone. Within a few minutes, all the items arrive at your table and it’s go time! We ordered a vast array of items from your essentials (fish tofu, wagyu beef, lamb, fish roe dumplings) to items you wouldn’t normally find included on a buffet menu (scallops, Fresh prawns, pippies). Bonus all the seafood we ordered was fresh!
Sauce station was good, they have posters up of different sauce recipes you can try, and the noodle options were great.
It was $42.80 pp (drinks not included), so worth it in my opinion!
Overall this is my new favourite spot for hot pot. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality, large selection of ingredients, atmosphere and the TOM YUM BROTH!!
One thing I’d suggest is turning the music down a little bit. The music was fun but a little loud when you’re trying to talk to your friends...
Read moreEverything was just so good! I booked a table via their Instagram which was a bit suss but it worked out fine in the end. We were seated a bit later than our booking time but the staff were always keeping us updated and apologised for the wait. We even got a free jug of coke for the trouble.
All food except the sauces and noodles had to be ordered through the QR code which was a great and efficient way to bring the dishes to the table. The only thing I would mention is that the area to grab your own sauces and noodles is fairly small which makes it absolute chaos during peak times. Staff did mention to form two lines (one for sauce, one for noodles) but this was easily dismissed by many patrons who would just collect both in one go which formed a bit of a crossroad. Hopefully they find a solution for this.
Other than that, I'm already waiting for the next time I...
