DON’T GO TO THE DESSERT LAB, CAMDEN, for the kids chocolate lolly disc making sessions in the holidays, it’s such a rip off. Didn’t get all the things we paid for and no compensation from the Manager Tim. He wasn’t there on the day and has denied everything. The kids that were at the session were double dipping in the chocolate, no supervision from the staff or the parents. I told my son to use one paddle pop stick for each chocolate, which he did, but others DID NOT. (Tim says this didn’t happen. I was right there and had to actually ask kids not to do it. Wish I was videoing) They should have been given aprons, which they weren’t. (Tim says they were on the chairs, which they weren’t) It states that they would decorate their milkshake cup, that didn’t happen. They were supposed to get a talk about where chocolate comes from, that didn’t happen. They were supposed to get a colouring pack, which they didn’t get. He denied everything to Department of Fair Trading. How he could deny all of this is beyond me, as he wasn’t EVEN THERE ON THE DAY. It wasn’t about the $20, it was the Principle of it and how he lied to save his butt. Even one of his workers, which I won’t name, said to me on the day that I should receive a refund, as the services weren’t provided. What a great place to spend some quality time with family and friends at GCM’s. The coffee there is easily one of the best I’ve had. The food is also great with a great little variety of sandwiches, pies, sausages rolls and cakes. The staff are always friendly, courteous, and always smiling!! Best part and most heartwarming thing to see is they give people with disabilities a go with lots of praise and encouragement. His name was Ryan and what a lovely young fellow!! As a father of a child with a disability, it’s great to see businesses such as this supporting a great cause.
