Food was decent tastewise, but with many complications. There was a huge chunk of deep fried batter and flour (separate from the chicken patty) inside my chicken burger the size of a thick tomato slice. The chicken burger had more sauce than chicken. The bread on the Mack burger was worse than McDonald's. The buffalo wings starter was less spicy than a mild sauce served alongside a dipping sauce which smelt and tasted off.
A few waiters spoke in a rude tone, but that doesn't come close to the behaviour of the lady at the front register: unnecessarily rude and angered tone for no reason (I had only asked her to repeat the directions to the bathroom). This also continued when we were paying. Some employees were clueless about the restaurant's deals. when asked if the $12 pasta deal will still be available on public holidays, we were told to check with head office. Why would the customer check with head office about a deal the restaurant is offering?? seems more like an employee's job. Definitely a first. As a follow-up, we asked the employee to check and report back to us, which they agreed to, but never followed through with. Keep in mind only a quarter of their indoor tables were full, it did not seem like a busy time for the employees so there is no justification for this kind of behaviour.
There were a few good things, however. Crispy chips, abojt 20 mins waiting time for the food to arrive at our table, they also had the best tomato sauce I've ever tried (I'm glad I didn't pay the extra $2 it costs to just swap it out with another sauce). There were also a couple of considerate employees who treated us as a restaurant should.
If all of the issues didn't occur, this restaurant would be at least 4 stars, however, for such a highly-praised company, the quality of service and some foods is simply not enough for me to even give 2 stars.
I had heard good things about Rashay's in general which enticed me to try them out. The food and service issues must only originate in Rashays Penrith. Will probably give Rashay's another chance but definitely not...
Read moreI decided to take my wife and 4 young children out for dinner tonight. When we arrived we were seated in an area where there were already a few people dining. Having 4 young children isnt exactly going to be a silent occasion and with my youngest son also having speical needs it also makes it that little bit harder . Another customer was laughing looking and judging us thinking we have a out of control child When they actually have no idea that sometimes we like to be able to feel normal and get out and enjoy a meal as a family at a casual dining family restaurant. Not at a 5 star fine dining restaurant that some people must have assumed they were at. We got served our meals and half way through our meals a waitress asked if we can be moved as there was complaints about the noise. We told her can we just finish and we will leave instead of moving all the children meals and drinks. The manager then approached us asking if we can be moved to a more private area as a customer was complaining. Why wernt we seated in a more secluded spot to begin with knowing we had 4 young children. Instead of wanting to move us half way through our meal. By that stage we had lost our appetite and said dont worry we will pay and leave. By trying to satisfy that other customers needs whom im guessing probably doesnt have children and maybe wouldve been easier to just move them since they were the one with the problem we were told to move and felt completely humiliated and disregarded also as a customer ourselves. Maybe your staff need to be further trained and educated on how to cater for families with young children and also children with additional needs so the family dont need to feel like how we felt tonight and not situate them in an area where there are already quite a few people dining and may cause disruptions to there perfect evening . Im so upset and disappointed with what occurred tonight. I will not be returning. Ive been out to other restaurants before and never been humiliated like we...
Read moreServing staff friendly but made too many excuses for the cooking staff. Couldn't have eggs cooked to my liking and got hard rubber eggs which I sent back with serving staff unsure if it was possible to have eggs sunny side up. Asked for steak medium and it was like a blue steak. Too chewy to digest. Gristle in most of steak. Chips cold on 4 meals. By the time my eggs came back everyone else had finished eating and steak was cold anyway. They offered to cook another steak but we were over it by then. They offered 3 per cent off the steak meal I couldn't eat. Overall the service was 6 out of 10. The food 2 out of 10. I could have cooked better. Waiting time was long and came out in two phases. First person had finished before all the meals came out. Had to haggle to get the bill down and not pay for what I couldn't eat. Kids tired and grumpy with whole experience. Meals overpriced for what you receive. Best to ask a lot of questions before you order in respects to time you will receive meal, make sure everything is hot and to your liking when you receive it, don't be deceived by the photos in the menu and ask if that is what you will receive, and don't be shy to send it back immediately if it is below what you expected to receive. If they offer you percentage discounts on your meal you returned- decline same. Ask for it to be removed from the bill if you didn't or couldn't eat it. My overall rating is 3 out of 10 because they took the steak meal off the bill and the eggs x6 which were $2.00 each. I also ordered a piece of fish with my meal for $3.00. It was the size of a fish finger. What a rip-off. The jug of lemonade you buy will have more ice than drink, so ask for no ice. Won't be going back anytime soon until the meals improve and...
