Very Disappointing Service Overshadowed the Experience. I was excited to try this local restaurant, especially after seeing its glowing Google reviews. However, my excitement quickly turned into disappointment due to the poor service, which significantly impacted our dining experience.
From the start, the service felt rushed and unwelcoming. An older lady, who appeared to be both the order taker and server, pressured us to order before all my friends had even arrived. She insisted we choose the special dishes, yet there were no visible prices. When we finally decided, we were told that 2 out of the 4 main dishes we ordered were unavailable—something she could have mentioned earlier instead of pushing high-priced specials.
The wine service was another issue. We ordered a bottle of white wine, and while one waitress (who seemed kind but inexperienced) brought an ice bucket, the older lady simply placed the bottle on the table without chilling it. It was frustrating and made us wonder why basic service etiquette was ignored.
The food itself was okay, but the service remained unpleasant. The older lady repeatedly tried to clear our plates before we had finished eating, making us feel rushed despite the fact that there were no waiting customers. It was uncomfortable and unnecessary.
To top it all off, when I went to pay the bill, an extra 2% charge was added for card payment—which is understandable. However, what truly annoyed me was the older lady’s rude comment telling me to bring cash next time because the machine "doesn’t often work." It felt like an excuse rather than a legitimate issue.
Overall, while the food was decent, the poor service ruined the experience. I wouldn’t return, and I certainly wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant...
Read moreWhat an incredible experience! My boyfriend and I visited ThreeOneNine to celebrate a special occasion with a BYO red wine and it turned out to be an unforgettable evening. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and Chef Graeme personally came to our table to introduce himself. He took the time to get to know us and explained the inspiration behind each dish, which made the meal feel even more special.
We started with the raw tuna, which was incredibly fresh and perfectly seasoned. The deboned stuffed risotto special followed, and it was an absolute standout—rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. The spatchcock was cooked to perfection, with the skin beautifully crispy and the meat incredibly tender, paired with roast potatoes that were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The chili prawn papaya salad was refreshing, with the perfect balance of heat and sweetness.
And then there was the savoury toothfish brûlée. This dish was nothing short of a revelation—a beautiful, savory twist on the classic dessert, with a delicate texture and bold umami flavors that had us both speechless. Honestly, it was a masterpiece.
ThreeOneNine is a true hidden gem that’s packed with both locals and visitors for good reason. Graeme and his team bring a level of fine dining that’s made with love, passion, and exceptional skill. It’s clear this place is a community favorite, and we are so glad we discovered it.
If you’re looking for an extraordinary dining experience, go here. I’ve already been telling all my friends about it, and we can’t...
Read moreSo this place is new-ish and a little expensive in my opinion, if your kids are fussy eaters they may not like the food style here, little spicy for some food choices.
The atmosphere is kind of interesting, it feels like your literally at someone's place dining which could feel weird or good for some people. It's kind of cute I think and i liked that the place felt like that was different.
The setting feels like your friends invited you over for dinner lol that's the best way i could describe it.
The place has an interesting history in terms of how it functions, apprantly it also is used so that you can hire the place for like a birthday event or party of some sort which could explain the reason for its unusual atmosphere as well.
If your kids are like mine and don't mind trying something different and you don't mind the price tag that comes with it then give it a go
In my opinion if you just a couple then yeh you got to try this place regardless. The quality of the food is up there.
I want to give it five stars but there's just something about the place that is missing for me to give that extra star.
I think it should focus on one area of expertise, like concentrating on being a restaurant first and not a hired event place as well.
They are definitely a restaurant that have the potential to...
