Three Spoons Concord West — Restaurant in Sydney

Nice little cafe with some Thai offerings on the menu. Staff were friendly, watched them interact with some regulars and their banter which was nice. The food we got was above average. I found my chicken bacon avocado sandwich a bit lacking in bacon and avocado (Like 10-15% wasn't covered). Like buying a servo sandwich to see all these great ingredients in the middle and barren towards end. It still tasted good and it didn't bother me too much. Its a $10 dollar sandwich. And there was plenty of nicely grilled chicken breast that exceeded the edges of the sandwich. Steak sandwich was beautiful. The beer battered fries were a little thicker so it didn't have that signature crunch. I didn't try their coffee but we sat close enough to the machine to taste the aromas so you'll have to find out for yourself. The worst experience I've had. I ordered a latte extra hot and it was just normal temperature. I told the owner that it wasn't hot because I was planning to add some hot milk. She told me to wait a minute and brought out a takeaway cup that she had warmed in the microwave. I was so embarrassed and asked if she had warmed it in the microwave. She very confidently said yes. I looked at her expression and asked if she wanted to make it again and she spoke to the employee in a Southeast Asian language that I couldn't understand. Been here a few times. Food is simple and homestyle, no bells and whistles, and a mix between western cafe food and asian. Prices are reasonable. Today I had eggs benedict and curry of the day. Food nice but does not stand out in terms of freshness, ingredients and flavours. Service is sound. Staff looked a little fatigued and not as smiley / welcoming today, even though it was a quiet saturday morning. They are reliable in terms of food quality. Good atmosphere to catch up as not too loud for conversations. Better than other cafes where the food is overpriced...
