I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. When we arrived, the waitress, who spoke very little English, suggested we order a menu to share. I chose the $79 option for my partner, our 12-year-old daughter, and me.
The meal started off fine with bread, sauces, a full spinach pide, and a lahmacun—enough for sharing. However, we were already feeling quite full when three large plates of meat arrived. Confused, I asked to confirm the order and was shocked to learn we had been charged for three set menus, turning the $79 bill into $237. What makes it worse is that we didn’t receive three spinach pides or lahmacuns, which confirms to me that one a single set and not 3. Instead of sharing a menu, we ended up sharing a bill.
The owner was dismissive when I tried to explain that the waitress never mentioned ordering three separate sets. (Who would order that much food for a 12-year-old?) To make matters worse, the baklava, which was included on the bill, never arrived.
They also offered a wine at $5 instead of its original price since we had ordered a menu, but then told me that a second wine would be fully charged. This clearly implied that I had only ordered a single set menu.
I believe this was a mistake caused by the waitress’s lack of clarity, and I would sincerely appreciate a refund for the mistake made. If this issue is resolved, I would be happy to update my review.
This experience was frustrating, and I left feeling overcharged and unheard. I wouldn’t recommend this place based...
Read moreThe food was mid tier, downgraded a lot since the last few times I’ve visited. The staff were extremely rude and were not kind spirited whatsoever. As we were ordering, staff asked us how we would like our meat to which we responded “medium well”. The waiter looked confused and moments later a lady whom we’re assuming might be the manager approached our table to rudely let us know that “medium well” does not exist apparently. My friend shortly after needed to visit the bathroom and was locked inside and the door knob was basically fallen off. The staff made her feel horrible by giving her a DEATH STARE about this situation as if she’d locked herself in and broken the knob on purpose. Staff also laughed and said “how’d you manage to do that”, my friend then explained the door handle was loose and fell off. Not only were the bathrooms quite dirty, walking past the kitchen we noticed it was significantly dirty also. Upon paying for the bill, we were unsure of our table number since there were no table numbers and we were randomly seated and we politely said “we’re not sure of our table number but would like to pay the bill” staff responded by saying “yeah yeah I know” and did a hand shoving gesture. We walked out and as we’re walking out 3 significantly older men decided to stare and make us visibly uncomfortable, my friend told them to turn around numerous times and they did not. All of which staff inside were witness to… safe to say won’t be...
Read moreI was excited to visit, but unfortunately didn't quite meet my expectations, primarily due to the incredibly high reviews. The restaurant was empty the whole time we were there, and even when I went back to collect my takeaway after our show at the Enmore, sadly, there were no customers. Each dish was tasty, but nothing I would rush back for. Anytime we needed help from the waitress, we had to call her off her phone, and no extra chat or advice was offered. The pita bread was delicious, and so was the baked feta, but I think more fresh garnishing or little extras added to the dishes would have helped. The mezze plate was purely dips and bread, and it would have been nice to have something to add some lightness or freshness to the palate. The decor has some tasteful elements but, unfortunately, leans more to the tacky end with copious amounts of fake plants. When visiting the Enmore theatre next time, I'll go for...
