Waka is a hidden gem in Manly, Sydney. This cozy Japanese restaurant is tucked away on Pittwater Road, but it's definitely worth seeking out. The food is fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. I've been to Waka several times now, and I've never been disappointed. The sushi and sashimi are always melt-in-your-mouth, and the tempura is light and crispy. I also love the gyoza, which are plump and flavorful. Waka is a great spot for a casual meal with friends or family. It's also a good option for a romantic date night. I highly recommend Waka to anyone looking for a great Japanese restaurant in Manly. Here are some of the things I love about Waka: The food is fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced The staff are friendly and attentive The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting It's a great spot for a casual meal or a special occasion Overall, I give Waka a 5 out of 5 stars. I hope this review is helpful! Additional notes: Waka is open for dinner seven days a week. They also offer lunch and takeaway on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Waka is BYO bottle wine only. I hope you have a chance to check out Waka soon! You won't be disappointed.

had a dinner here and I actually need to book for reservations but they managed to get me a seat. I ordered the prawn gyoza which tasted really good and there’s a bit of charred on the bottom to give them an extra characteristic. I also ordered an eel fried rice, the portion was generous and they even put an eel chunk as a topping/garnish which is good but unfortunately the rice texture is a bit hard and dry, I think they put on the high heat and forgot to stir that cause this happened, idk what’s going on inside so I can’t blame them. also the lighting is so bad I know they’re trying to have a low light to be more relaxing but it’s a bit hard for me to read the menu

After a huge mix up on Christmas Eve, when the table I had booked wasn't availableI I gave this restaurant one star. Kaz, the owner of WAKA personally contacted me by phone. He then came all the way up to Crows Nest to apologise to me in person and give me a voucher to allow him to personally " put everything right and give WAKA another chance". My two friends from The Sunshine Coast, had to come down to Sydney again on business so we decided to go down to WAKA, again, for dinner. The food was exceptional and I would safely say that it is the best Japanese food I have ever eaten in Sydney. The Sashimi is to die for.....so fresh. The prices are very reasonable too. The menu is varied and interesting and above all VERY, VERY, TASTY. The wait staff were efficient, attentive and polite not only to us but to all the customers who were there and they were, above all, friendly.. Later on Kaz came to our table and introduced himself to our guests and personally apologised to them also. In a world where nobody seems to care about people and service, along comes Kaz. This man really cares about his business and the way customers are treated, not only by him but all who work in the restaurant and it shows.

Something really good came out of all this. My friends from The Sunshine Coast, when they are in Sydney, will be bringing their business associates here and I will be now dining here on a regular basis and I will be telling everybody just how good the food is here. I would like to add just one more thing.. Thank You Kaz for putting yourself out, like you have.

.Forget the one star I gave you, in my first review, because I'm now giving...
