A Must-Visit Indian Fusion Gem (Sketch) in Manly
If you’re looking for an unforgettable Indian fusion dining experience, this restaurant in Manly is the place to be! From start to finish, every dish was a delightful surprise.
We began with the shakarkand—a sweet potato mash with Indian flavors that I had never tasted before. It was rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious. The chicken tikka skewers were another highlight, offering a unique twist on the classic dish with an unexpected yet delightful flavor profile.
For the mains, we indulged in butter chicken with fresh, warm roti. The butter chicken was smooth, perfectly spiced, and utterly satisfying. I couldn’t resist ending the meal with jeera rice paired with more butter chicken. The rice was cooked to perfection—light, fluffy, and not greasy at all.
For dessert, we tried the rusk malai brûlée, which was an innovative take on traditional Indian flavors. It was an absolute treat and a great way to end the meal.
Beyond the food, the service was impeccable. The staff was attentive and welcoming, and the owner truly made the experience even more special.
Food: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Owner: 10/10 Overall Experience: 100/10!
I will definitely be coming back for more. If you’re in Manly and love Indian food with a modern twist, this spot is...
Read moreI took my family here for dinner on my last night of vacation. The food was very good and our waitress was pleasant, but one of our party ordered a draft beer and the keg ran dry so all he got was about two ounces of foam from the dregs of a keg. We then had an excellent meal, and when the bill came, they forgot to charge us for two other items ordered by the rest of the group. I told the waitress that she had missed the two items, as I didn’t want her to have to eat the cost. She thanked me for the honesty, issued another bill, and added not only the missed items, but a $5 line item for “unknown charge.” On asking, I was told that this was for the “partial” beer because he didn’t know how else to bill us for it. So, I ended up paying a $40 honesty tax comprising the missed items and $5 worth of beer foam. No good deed goes unpunished.
My party had intended to give this place a 5 star review, and then this billing nonsense happened and now we will never be back. I hope the $5...
Read moreWe had dinner here last night. We were a group of four and the food was great. The service was also very good. The menu, despite being a relatively small one (which doesn’t have to be a bad thing) is quite inclusive and it incorporates quite a few vegan and gluten free dishes. The only bad thing is that the wine selection is not very extensive and, for example, for white wine on the glass they only had a sweet wine and a Chardonnay blend. I think they are more of a craft beer place since they had a really good selection but I was just a tad disappointed with the wine options. The rest of the experience was very good and I would probably go back on any day I fancy craft beer...
