You know what, I will not be silenced. This place is disgusting. An elderly man was assaulted in the kitchen and then evicted for it, the kitchen where your gourmet food plates are washed is filthy, the bar staff are all kids, #Metoo cockatoo, the noise and obscenity that emanate from the place is abhorrent and at least 3 of the neighbours asked me to put this back up (you know who you are, no thanks needed) Truth be told im amazed this place hasn't been slapped with a petition to be shut down. I left despite being told "I'm not kicking you out" because even someone as low on the social ladder as myself has standards. You should have more respect for those who pay your bills AND your neighbours. If there was lower than 1 star, you would be my only review that gets it. Shame on you, and you extort money from a disabled pensioner for imaginary cleaning costs because I wrote this review. My carer received an sms that stated "He has two options, remove the review and I won't charge him, or leave it and we do." Well I got the 100$ back, so you ended up committing fraud against the Commonwealth bank and the Australian government. Good luck with that. Your miserable extortion tactics did not work. I was also compensated for my trouble, so thanks for that. In conclusion, avoid this place lest you be grouped in with this den of vipers. It truly is horrible. Just scroll down and read the TRUE reviews, not the sycophantic suckups that kiss the managements bottom. FOODPOISONING people. I was not lying see, I was just extorted into removing the truth. What a despicable and cowardly act that was. Well I will not be silenced. They can rip me off, threaten me, even have a craic. I care not. The truth...

An unexpected pleasure, a comfortable oasis for a drink and a chat, located exactly where it's needed. Deserves 4.5 stars based on my first visit. If I was a local, this would very likely become my local.
It looks like nothing from outside, but has been given an intelligent and appealing renovation inside. Light, airy and open without being a noise cannon. You can hear what the person next to you is saying.
Looks like the main crowd are local professionals, families and younger people with a bit going on.
Good range of beers, and friendly well-informed staff who were willing to help us make good choices.
Pro tip: PROUDLY POKIES FREE. Bless them. Whether by design or by regulation, I don't care.
Conveniently located at the Petersham rail station - treat yourself to a small adventure, hop a train, stop by.
Missy The Cat Star Ratings:
5 - a place of rare genius that merits repeated return visits
4 - a strong effort with no major shortcomings
3 - a solid, worthy effort with perhaps one important thing to fix
2 - several important things wrong, but at least one important thing right
1 - can't be given a zero, doesn't deserve a dollar (as of...
Read moreHonestly I've really enjoyed frequenting this venue over the past 12 months. Sadly now I'd rather spend my time and money at other bars in the area.
After coming in at 9pm on Saturday night to a not overly busy bar with the intention of ordering a meal and asking for a simple cocktail a 'Bloody Mary'... The manager said 'I'm not making anymore cocktails tonight' in the rudest way possible. Seriously, it's his job to make drinks and this drink is a pretty simple one to make. Eventually another staff member happily made this simple order for me, whilst the manager behaved like a child kicking, screaming and acting aggressively slamming till drawers etc, about me a paying customer getting what I ordered. I never ended up ordering food as why would I want to waste my money after that?
This being said, my few previous dealings with said manager in the past have been somewhat decent. Regardless of this, his behaviour is totally unacceptable. Perhaps hospitality might be the wrong industry for him as it involves being HOSPITABLE.
This being said, the other bar staff were helpful and friendly and the poor attitude/behaviour of their manager should not...
