Delicious meals, friendly, sincere staff and chef, great menu that specifies if dishes are strictly organic or not, nice atmosphere and location, well thought out creative dishes. The only thing I had an issue with is the lack of a non-COYO yogurt option but that is just me and doesn’t detract from how wonderful Wilde & Co left me feeling. Highly recommended.
UPDATE:
Below are reviews of all the menu items I have tried so far;
House Baked Coconut Granola 4/5
This was a wonderful dish. The granola is not overly sweet but sweet enough to make you feel satiated but not guilty. When I tried it the coyo was warm which did detract a bit from the experience however I’ll be trying it again and perhaps this was just a once off. Stewed fruits and fruit were well portioned and prepared too. I would recommend.
Wilde Nourish Bowl 3/5
While objectively I think the bowl is wonderful there was a lemon dressing on the kale and chilli on the avocado that weren’t mentioned on the menu. Based on my dislike of lemon and some spicy foods this made it less enjoyable for me. I think in future menus this should be mentioned if the dish remains. Still an enjoyable meal and I enjoyed the well cooked egg, carrots (also not mentioned on the menu), pickled vegetables and well prepared piece of toast.
Mushroom Omelette 5/5
The Miso Omelette was especially impressive; well balanced delicate flavours and my order was perfectly cooked. A perfect mix of flavours.
Coconut Pancakes 5/5
Perfect.
Organic Eggs Your Way 2/5
I have had scrambled eggs twice here. The first time they were quite good however the second time was unfortunate; the eggs were perfectly cooked however there was far too much salt on top of them. This was such a shame, the first bite was amazing, the second less so and then after that it was just salt. With every other bite I was just hoping for less salt but it never got better, all I got was more salt that overpowered the eggs entirely. The toast however was good and they use good butter here as well which is appreciated. I would have given this a recommend and 4.5 out of 5 but due to this I have to give it a 2.
If you ask for scrambled eggs, say no salt on top.
Muffins 5/5
Both fresh (they are made in-store every day) and a day later (after being taken home) the best I have ever had. Try to get them just after 8am and they’ll still be warm (also the chef makes sure to not cover them up while they are cooling, fantastic attentional...
Read moreI saw this place on tiktok and read the reviews and thought I have to try it. Being from the industry I can tend to be very critical but I definitely believe that everything I Post is meant to be positive in helping a place improve or giving a place credit that is due. Having said all that I will start with the coffee and although it is just one of the commercial Roasters being Allpress it was still made exceptionally well and I would score the coffee five out of five and maybe I probably should have had the pancakes because they are the things that seem to get the best media but unfortunately I had the ham salad sand sandwich which just didn't impress. The bread, although fresh, was just too dry slices of sourdough no butter with spinach tomato cheese and possibly the worst processed ham I've ever seen. Was the sandwich bad? No... it was just a sandwich you eat and forget and especially in today's world where everybody is doing crazy good sandwiches this was a real letdown for a cafe that is supposed to be this good. And if you're not prepared to use a really good quality smoked off the bone leg ham at least you could use a top quality smoked and rolled lightly processed ham rather than this very average grade processed ham that looks like it came from Coles prepackaged section.
Thanks for the reply May and I hope I wasn't too blunt with my review. I think I understand the problem with the ham now... getting your deli meats from a milk supplier would be the problem. I don't know if you've ever heard of black forest Smokehouse in Marrickville but you could try them as it would be much better quality than your...
Read moreI am absolutely in love with this charming café in Darlinghurst. From the moment I arrived, I knew this would be an experience to remember. The coffee was perfection, with a range of milk options to suit every preference, and the outdoor seating was sunny and inviting.
The staff here are incredible—friendly, kind, and quick on their feet. Their positive energy really sets the tone for a great dining experience. As for the food, it’s truly on another level. The vegan options blew me away. The pancakes were not only beautiful but also unbelievably delicious—I've never tasted anything like them before, and the fact that they’re vegan by default is a huge plus!
The rainbow salad was a refreshing but hearty dish, packed with fresh greens and other vibrant vegetables, all served on top of creamy pumpkin hummus with perfectly toasted bread. The toasted nuts added an extra layer of flavor and texture that I absolutely loved.
This café gets a well-deserved 10/10 from me. I can't find a single thing to complain about. The cozy atmosphere, the welcoming staff, and even the best orange juice I’ve ever had make this a must-visit spot. Whether you’re here for breakfast, brunch, or just coffee, you’ll leave feeling satisfied and excited to return.
I highly recommend...
