First time going to Bar Reggio and it's a really beautiful and very lively

Our servers were very good and on top of everything taking us to our tables.

We got our water and look at the menu.

For entree got the cold Italian meats and Bruschetta pizza. The cold meats were not your average Deli meats the Salami was amazing and Mortadella was nothing I've ever had before. We put the cold meats on the bruschetta pizza and went so well

For main dishes we got three dishes to share first one was Pollo Broccoli a creamy Broccoli and chicken spaghetti, Chicken Milanese with spaghetti Bolognese as the side dish and Lamb Cutlets with mash and veggies

Both pasta dishes were cooked perfectly Al Dente, the broccoli was cooked perfectly still with a crunch, the chicken was soft and moist with a perfectly creamy sauce

The spaghetti Bolognese had a depth of flavour that was so gorgeous and the red wine in the sauce was perfect one of the best Bolognese sauces I've ever had

The chicken Milanese came out and it was massive and definitely worth it perfectly cooked and crunchy too.

The lamb cutlets were Juicy and perfectly cooked.

For dessert we had the Tiramisu which had great coffee flavor and perfect also had the Baked Ricotta cheese cake which came with cream that had a dusting of cinnamon which went perfectly each bite was a perfect bite.

Definitely a 10/10 experience from the food to the...

I hope there isn't a character limit on this review system because this one has been a long time coming.

Bar Reggio is easily my favourite Italian restaurant in Sydney and certainly in my Top 3 overall. Never have I ever had such casual excellence so consistently. Delicious food: done. Friendly service from people who genuinely care: in spades! Atmosphere: authentically Italian. It's BYO so technically their drink range is infinite and whatever you desire and then on top of all of that, the value is simply insane.

I cannot overstate how important a place like this is for a cultural melting pot like Sydney and more specifically for a 3rd generation Italian Australian like me. This is the truest form of Italian hospitality allowing anyone and everyone who enters this Sydney institution to experience in sensationally casual fashion: la dolce vita. If it were up to me this place would be listed as a world heritage site and I hope to be coming here for decades more.

To end, I want to make sure each and every staff member gets not just a thank you from me writing this right now but every single person you have ever served, your service, food, and venue are truly...

What a fantastic establishment. Traditional hearty Italian This place is LOUD, but a “good” LOUD.

Food is good (not “top end” but tasty nonetheless) and BYO.

Atmosphere is AAA+++

The minute you walk in the door, it feels like you have entered a busy restaurant in Naples.

The service and atmosphere feel like you are in Naples. Have always enjoyed my dining experience here over the years.

This time (April 2024) we had: Gnocchi Gorgonzola….. was “light” I like a strong cheese, the dish served tonight was mild and a bit tasteless. (the Gnocchi were al dente)

The Seafood Marinara was also a bit on the bland side and needed a bit of “oomph”. The pasta cooked to perfection.

Puzzling as I have had both these dishes here on previous occasions and always been very satisfied.

The winner, a special on the board, Spaghetti Mussels with chili Napoli sauce (I think it is also on the regular menu) EXCEPTIONAL!!!

Forget the long lunch or long dinner. Get there on time if you have a booking. Both lunch and dinner have a 2-hour sitting only. You will be asked to leave, the Napoli way.

It is an institution. GO! You will not be...

We had dinner tonight, food was amazing as always and service was great in general. But I found that one of staff was very rude to especially us. He kept trying to collect plates from our table even though there was food left without asking us and I thought he was new staff and didnt know how to do proper service but he asked other tables if they finished their plates before he collected more than 3-4 times. It clearly showed that he was literally doing on his purpose. Especially we said could we please keep this plate as there are food left when he collected one of our plates, how he looked at us was terrifying and he even didnt say anything back and tried to take that dish anyway. I have been enjoying this venue for more than 4 years with no disappointment but this time I felt like discrimination and uncomfortable from his behavior. Please don’t get me wrong this venue is amazing with amazing service in general but just aware that you might feel the same discriminated feelings from that staff if you are not caucasian customers. Sadly I don’t want to go back again

So I got a 5:30pm booking, and you should book to avoid disappointment, to this place after a recommendation. Well I thought I was back in Italy. The atmosphere was truely like being in a busy Italian restaurant in Naples. The staff were busy talking loudly in Italian and while some might like a quiet place to eat, this just made it more authentic. They only do BYO but it's only $3.99 a head so I was finally able to try the bottle of Chardonnay I bought last year in the Mornington Peninsula. They provided ice in a bucket for the wine. The menu is very extensive with steaks and such but I wanted to try their pasta. First we had the bruschetta pizza which was delicious. I had the gnocchi with sausage and my partner had spaghetti marinara. Both dishes were flavoursome and perfectly cooked. This place is a must for Italian food lovers. If you forget your alcohol, there is a bottle shop nearby. Their outdoor dining is covered for adverse weather conditions. I'll be back.
