Firstly I'll start with the good; The location is close to a main train station and the CBD area. The staff are super friendly and always trying to help. The price is great for Sydney and where it is. And lastly the sheets were clean. However, the walls are paper thin. We had someone next door coughing all night and made it near impossible to sleep. Even though we were on the inner part of the hotel you could still hear emergency vehicles outside frequently. The pillows were one of the worst pillows Ive ever used (picture shoving a blanket into a pillowcase to use as a pillow). The mattress was also pretty low quality. The room itself as a said was clean was a matter of 'you get what you pay for'. It had furniture the same furniture i had as a child like 20+yrs ago. The tv was tucked into the cupboard instead of on the wall which was also an odd choice. Lastly the heaters barely work, we requested to change rooms because ours wasnt working. And in the next room it was pretty much the same deal. Bonus: The continental breakfast was a nice addition. (Just cereal and bread/muffins) If you're looking to stay cheap and just want a clean room it's pretty good.

It did not disappoint us, Song Hotel is a modest hotel located within the city center, its across Hyde Park. Near Pitt Street , St. Marys church and 12 min walk to Darling Harbour, near Museum Train Station which conveniently goes to the airport, near bus stops going to Sydney Opera house and among other Sydneys best bars and restaurants and famous cafes destination.. They have guests laundry service conveniently located at 6th and 8th floors. Free wifi of course. All rooms essentials you need are provided.. And most of all service was great! The staff were so friendly and accommodating.. we will be back here for sure. Until our next visit .

Song Hotel was the best place to stay in Sydney. It was in the city centre, just on the walking distance to most places, transportation connection was perfect. The best thing about the hotel was the service, it was excellent 😍 For the early check in we got free of charge from their kind receptionists; the room was very convenient and the breakfast was awesome (delicious warm croissant and hot latte was perfect); the lady and the man in the breakfast room were very helpful. Most of all, the price was very affordable. I recommend Song Hotel for a pleasant stay in Sydney 😊

Plus points:

  1. Great convenient location: near to Musuem train station and has direct bus to Bondi Beach. Tram is just a 10mins walk away to Townhall. Pretty much walkable everywhere to e.g central station, Chinatown or even Circular Quay (jus 30mins)
  2. Room is clean and towels, bedsheets are fresh. No pests, thankfully.

Neutral: Free breakfast but it's continental breakfast only. Kitchen only opens Wed-Sat evenings other than breakfast time.

Downside:

  1. Walls are thin, so if u have a partying neighbour at 3am,its gona wreck ur sleep. Luckily I encounter such night once only throughout my week stay.
  2. Room is dated and unlike shown on website.
  3. only found 1 usable socket, which I also need it for kettle, phones & watch charging, quite inconvenient.
  4. the socket is above the bar fridge which is inside wardrobe. Coffee set also placed on fridge. Safety hazard if hot water is spilled over the fridge or charging phone.
  5. TV is installed in wardrobe. Hassle to pull in/out to move the sliding wardrobe doors. Definitely a minus.
  6. No bedroom slippers. No umbrellas available for loan. No bottled water. Only soap and shampoo/cond provided.

Though there were shortcomings, it was an overall a pleasant week's stay and fits my budget in the...

Ok location to get to downtown but that is where the positives stop. Suitcase storage room that guests go in and out of themselves, no check that we got the right suitcases or didn’t touch the other suitcases in there. Small, old, room that has definitely seen better days and gave off a decidedly grimy feeling. Bed was ok until you tried to roll to the middle and was met with a hard, unbending wooden plank. Lights flicker on and off giving everything an eery vibe, and my favorite: someone standing on a ladder drilling into the ceiling RIGHT outside of our door (as in if the door swung out, I would have knocked him down) at 7 in the morning. Naturally, no warning from the hotel on that front. What everyone hopes to experience the morning of a 12 hour journey home. Finally, breakfast is great if you want 5 different types of cereal or are happy with a tiny selection of other foods.Wouldn’t book again or recommend. There are many different generic hotels to choose from around the same location that WON’T have workers drilling outside your door in the early hours of...
