I travel to Taree roughly every week and whilst I am there I often get KFC for lunch.
So today, 21.03.25, I decided to do the same. So at around 1.45pm today, I ordered a 3 piece box. When this was being given to me by the young girl at the window, I specifically asked if the servietes and spoon were in the box, as last time they were left out. She in turn asked a girl who was making meals up who answered, yes.
So I drove to my usual park spot near the river and opened my meal. Whilst there were some servietes in the box, once again there was no spoon or wipes. As I do not like eating potato and gravy with my fingers, I decided to drive back to the store and get them.
Because, I had only been there a few minutes before, I drove straight up to the serving window. The girls had changed and it was the girl who answerd that servietes and spoon were in the box, who was now at the window.
So I told her, I got a 3 piece meal a few ninutes ago and the spoon to eat the potato and gravy is not in there. So she got a spoon and a couple of wipes and handed them to me, whilst she mumbled something incoherent, that I could not make out. So I said so I said 'sorry what did you say'. So she then proceeded to repeat what she had mumbled and to castigate me for not stopping at the speaker. Basically giving me a dressing down and saying, you are supposed to stop at the speaker so we know what you want etc.
She then said, 'so whats with the attitude anyhow'. I said 'hey lady this was your mistake, not mine'. She then swore at me. (So bad that Google wont let me write here.) So, I then drove away.
I should say that during this conversation, I was not in any way abusive and I definitely did not swear. Hopefully you record this area so you can check this yourself. I do not believe that swearing at your customers is acceptable at any time. But particularly when the incident occured due to a mistake your staff made.
It seemed to me your staff, or this person, did not like being caught out, and that they had made a mistake. And instead of making an apology she took a defensive attitude to my being there at all, and to my making a legitament complaint.
If this is the attitude of your staff to their customers, then I can now understand why your store has such a low...
Read moreThis store prioritizes drive through service, to the actual exclusion of counter service.
Today at the counter in store, I ordered an Original Recipe Combo, regular size, with Pepsi. I waited about 25 minutes for the order to be presented to me. During the wait, I was told by the teenage girl working at the counter "Sorry, we're just waiting on your burgers." This confused me, since I could SEE into the kitchen where the staff were assembling the burgers, and about 10 or more individual burgers had been made since my order was placed, all with the same chicken I had ordered, and there was only 1 person waiting in the store with me at that time.
I ate my food and as I was about to leave, a customer was just placing an order for a Zinger burger combo, regular with Pepsi.
I left the store and quickly hopped into my car, went into the drive through and made the same order that lady just did - Zinger combo with Pepsi, regular size.
I waited for about 2 minutes in the drive through, received my order, and parked the car again.
I went back into the store, and saw the lady still waiting for her food. I double-checked I had her order correct (I did), and gave it to her, telling her I'd deliberately copied her order in the drive through AFTER she had placed hers, and I received mine first. By a long, long time.
I suggested she ask for a refund on the meal she was waiting for, but she didn't want to. She thought the whole situation was funny, she wasn't in a hurry
I think it's sad. Why does drive though get prioritised at the expense of...
Read moreThe food is average at best. I usually order through drive through and it's a hit or miss. Sometimes it's fast, other times you could be waiting a while. The worst thing is the food that you receive. It's either missing part of your order, small servings, covered in a ridiculous amount of salt, or inedible. If you complain about the food you are told you are wrong and that's how it comes from the supplier. I definitely recommend you checking your order before you leave because they don't compensate for you driving back. The last time I received the hot and crispy. It was like pink undercooked rubber coated in soggy batter . I didn't feel safe eating it. The leg piece was also the same. When I called to complain, the manager told me that as it's thigh meat it's meant to be like that. I know the texture and colour of cooked thigh meat, this was not it.. Even though I had reservations about it being cooked properly she told me it was perfect as they use a timer and the colour is normal. Not sure what temp the oil was though. Those pieces were thrown in the bin immediately. Half my meal was. I recommend going to the service centre on the highway....
