Deloraine Deli, how dare you. My experience today was appalling. After finishing our food and drinks, my companion and I were approached by a masked wearing waitress. Her initial interaction was very condescending and made comment regarding a small mess on the table. This embarrassed my companion who has a condition and has issues with coordination. I asked her not to make a deal of it but then she made further comment and spoke to her like a child. (We are 50's and 60's). She then proceeded to clear the table getting very close to us. I asked her to step back please as my companion is immuno compromised and that I don't trust people wearing masks as it generally is a sign they are sick. She then informed us that she is recovering from a cold and still has a lingering cough. Wow. She then proceeded to get even closer to us, I'm talking inches here. I repeated my request to please step back. Again to no avail standing her ground. Wow again. My third request was like a plea, leave us alone pleeease. After another comment that she understood and looking at us like little children, she finally went away. Another Wow. I was so shocked by this whole encounter i went and made a complaint to another server and asked for a manager or owner to be informed. The same server then came to our table a few minutes later and informed me that the owner/manager was aware and their policy was to allow staff who were sisk or recovering from illness to work but whilst wearing a mask. Are you serious, in a service industry that is handling food. Double double wow. I commented that I wasn't impressed and I would never return. A few minutes later another woman who i take was the owner or manager ( no introductions) aggressively approached me and kicked off about their policy once again and if it was good enough during Covid it was good enough now. ( in fact it wasn't good enough during covid, that's why we were locked down and not allowed out anwhere). I said what has this got to do with covid, it's about respecting someone's right to keep their distance from a sick person. She then doubled down and told me not to raise my voice to her staff. I hadn't raised my voice once during this whole saga. Wow yet again, what a way to treat your paying customers. I was and still am stunned. To the owners, good experiences are passed on to 4 or 5 people. Bad experiences are shared over 10 times. Keep that in mind when dealing with genuine complaints. Your attitude to this was way worse than the initial incident. So again, how dare you. How dare you trivialise people's health and safety, you should be ashamed of yourselves.
Your response to this review is a typical case of gaslighting... That is to put the blame on the victim to deflect any onus on you to take responsibility. Deloraine Deli, you will never find resolutions when you are looking for...
Read moreAfter visiting here I emailed the owner direct and the response was ( I'm a liar, and it's was us no acceptance for anything..) so I'm expecting a negative reply on here.
Our meals were cold the stir fry slushy, not eaten My prawn pasta dish flavour less and cold. Asked for a pot of tea and can of coke can't post pictures so shall put on the FB PAGE along with there response. Teapot filthy stained, ( but they thought it was acceptable) After selling us a can of coke and us not getting it we asked only to be told sorry we don't sell it so just help yourself to any drink out of the fridge, no big deal we did that but why sell something you don't stock?? I told the waitress at the time about our food but she wasn't interested and continued to go about serving others, There were 2 special menus and the one we ordered off clearly said trio of noodles within a minute of us ordering the only meal wiped off the specials board was the noodle one, we didn't see the other board next to kitchen/ wait staff entrance. But when we said this isn't a trio and it's cold and mushy the waitress immediately said look at that board it doesn't say trio, which it didn't.. I said no we ordered from this one how come you wiped this clear and not that one ? And in any case it's to soggy to eat. The only polite member was a young guy Having been in hospitality my whole life this is one of the worse experiences ever, and the attitude of the owner goes a long way save your $$$$ and eat somewhere else I have screen shot and added some of the owners response to me saying I don't deserve a refund 🤣 And the reason behind a...
Read moreRating 2 as it is not accommodating.
The exterior needs to be revamped as you can not utilise the space efficiently or cater to walk ins/a family. The table outside is too high for the seating that is available, I sat down and it's up to my chest.
My children sat down and it's up to their heads. How is anyone suppose to eat comfortably or eat at the table at all. (Unless you're standing up to eat your meal)
The remaining tables and chairs are literally a set you buy from Bunnings or some other hardware store. The look of it is lacking appeal and it just doesn't accommodate the guests appropriately so anyone going to eat here, make sure that you BOOK a table inside.
The menu looked like any other breakfast menu you would see and the prices were actually a bit more costly.
Considering the prices are a bit more costly, revamping the outdoor area to accommodate walk ins/anyone eating there is a strong recommendation and would work in your favour for both customer satisfaction, appeal and income.
The staff were friendly, the gentlemen tried to accommodate us by bringing out cushions to prop us up a bit more/for comfortability unfortunately it just wasn't going to work out for us.
We didn't order because of said issue, so I have no feedback on the quality of food however if I were to revisit, i will post an update regarding the exterior and the quality...
