My partner and I went out hoping for a nice meal and decided to pull up to the "Best" pizza and pasta place in town. We decided to share 1 dish of pasta and 1 pizza together. After receiving the bowl of ravioli, we noticed that after a couple of bites it was undercooked and made us feel uneasy. As we tried to get the waitress's attention, the rest of the tables were getting full and we were unable to grab her. Pushing the pasta off to the side we finished the pizza which was fine and cooked quite nicely. I went to pay for the meal and explained politely that the pasta was undercooked and I wasn't impressed with the dish. I didn't want to pay for something that was barely touched and uncooked. The chef came out started using a rude tone in her voice, saying it's my fault that I didn't tell the waitress straight away. I explained that she was busy and I couldn't get her attention. The chef wanted to charge me full price for the dish when there was hardly any eaten off the plate. I ended up paying a small portion as that's all that they would accept, but as a customers point of view this is unacceptable and appalling customer service. Will not be going back there or recommending to...

I travel to St Helens for business from time to time, and thought I'd give Trimbolis a go. I went into the restaurant, and ordered a pizza and a beer. I was then advised that there are two prices, a 'dine in' and a 'take out' price. The dine in price was 25% more than the takeaway price. I do not understand why a restaurant would do this. I wanted to dine in, and was planning on having four or five beers ($8 each). Instead, I sat outside and waited, and all they got out of me was $14.50 and the motivation to write this review. The pizza itself, was alright. I just would have preferred to eat in. I refuse to pay an additional $5 for the same product on a plate rather than in a box. If you want a good take away pizza, this place is pretty good. If you want to spend some time in a nice pizzeria over some drinks, expect to pay an unwarranted premium. What would have been a $40+ night for them and myself, became $14.50. I then walked around the corner to the BWS and got a six pack and went back to my hotel. Finally, the place had about three tables out of twenty filled. This place could have a great atmosphere if they encouraged...

Lovely family driven restaurant. Everyone seems to help out. If you're looking for an authentic Italian experience - this is not the place. If you're looking for cheap food for a cheap price - this is not the place as well. The pasta didn't taste fresh at all. The noodles (pasta marinara) were all sticking together and there wasn't much seafood in there in the first place (also pasta "marinara" is not the same as pasta "frutti di mare"). The pizza was okayish but also not quite the real deal. The base is not selfmade, but pre bought and then just topped up with ingredients. It was quite empty when we got there, yet the food took roughly 45min until it arrived. As already mentioned, the whole family seems to be helping out, even the kids (which I actually find remarkable), but one of them seemed to take his role of "clearing the tables" too seriously and came around our table every other minute to take plates and napkins, which were still in use (we weren't done with eating).

The lighting in the room is very bright and reminds me more of a canteen than an exquisite restaurant.

We arrived in St Helens at around 8:30 and this was the only restaurant open, so decided to try as it looked like a busy restaurant. I must admit that the moment Pizza was delivered to my table, I knew a lot of love and passion has gone into it, well presented, fresh and melting in the mouth. (Pictures attached) We also ordered Pasta and a slice of Tiramisu, both were awesome. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I decided to let the owner know about how I felt about her restaurant and she was very happy. I also had a chat with one of her staff sitting outside in her car, next to my car after her shift finished, and I got to know that the owner is actually very passionate about what she is doing and has been running this family business from the last 20 years. I always love to support local and family businesses. All the best to the whole team

WHERE DO I BEGIN! There’s no better place to celebrate your 30th birthday! What an exceptional experience!! It was like dining at a 5 star restaurant! The staff were super attentive, friendly and delivered amazing service to my partner and I. We managed to get a beautiful window seat and had the whole restaurant to ourselves which added to the atmosphere of our romantic date! I wish I could have taken a photo of my carbonara when it first came out, but I couldn’t wait a second longer to get into it, and before I knew it, I had already demolished it (see empty plate of creaminess below)! I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone to spend a first date/birthday or even business meeting here. Will be back again for sure!! :) :) Thank you for making the start to my 30s an outstanding one!!
