I ordered a few burgers today and was extremely disappointed in the quality and presentation. This is probably one of the worst experiences I’ve had with a burger. I got a few small end bits of tomato, a sliver of soggy lettuce that looked like it had been picked up off the floor and put in the bin and a tiny crusty bit of chicken that barely filled half the bun which was soggy. I ordered dinner for pick up at 5pm as I thought I wouldn’t have to wait long but turns out I had to wait an extra 15 mins when the place was practically empty, I had two employees ask what name my order was under and they disappeared inside never to return to tell me I had to wait outside in the cold like a peasant. I also ordered a bare Betty however the lettuce bun consisted of not the usual butter lettuce but about twenty small hard bits of cos lettuce which fell away from the meat as I tried to eat the pile of mess that it had become. The vegan burger was just as bad, it had about a litre of sauce placed in the middle of the bun and not spread out, three bits of tomato stacked like a tower and not spread out, a soggy three day old bun and the patty crumbled to pieces like dust. The fries were also cold and soggy like they had been cooked well before the rest of my order. Safe to say I will never be...
Read moreThe establishments building had a wonderful atmosphere, it feels like an American diner next to the beach, When ordering there were no problems and that is due to the wonderful Debby who was my waitress, she organised me and a table of 9 with no problems, she had a kind personality and did everything beautifully. I ordered my food without some ingredients such as onions, due to dietary requirements and I’m happy to say that there were no onions in my burger. I ordered Betty’s deluxe burger the burger itself was amazing, the flavours all complemented each other in a splendid way which melted in my mouth, unlike other establishments the burger did not fall apart, it kept in tack the entire time, this has always been a big problem for me and burgers, but at Betty’s burger they fixed this problem. Now don’t get me started on the fries, the fries were amazing, they were soft yet crunchy and they also had contained the perfect amount of salt, the fries complimented the burger beautifully. To wrap things up like a Betty burger, the experience was divine, from the amazing food to the wonderful waitress Debby, this establishment was a 10/10 experience and I shall be taking my kids here...
Read moreI have to begin my review with a grave warning, this location will warp your perception of reality, I’ve heard rumours of a place like this in whispers around dead end Torquay but I had no idea what was waiting for me. Debby’s face lights up the whole establishment like a lighthouse in a storm of mediocre burgers. When the burger arrived to me I swear light was bending around it as if it was too good for this plane of existence and our laws of physics. The burger changed my entire perception of what burgers and food in general could even be. Despite only containing pretty rudimentary ingredients the burger tastes like nothing on earth and I’m decently sure my tounge wasn’t even capable of processing the range of flavours One day I hope science will progress far enough to comprehensively describe how a burger could be so good. Godspeed Betty and your...
