This would have to be the dirtiest cafe I've ever eaten in. There was a bench full of dirty dishes which were being washed by hand under running water. I doubt the water was hot. No detergent was used and the cutlery was being cleaned literally with the workers hands, no cloth. The owner was rinsing out coffee cups and going straight to use them again. A dishwash guaranees thermal disinfection, why doesn't this place use one?? The floors were not compliant with either infection control or OHS requirements on the way out the back to the toilets - what an old dirty place. How does it keep its licence with the local government health officers. Does money change hands??

Love this place. I had the best ever Club Sandwich at the Sandbah cafe whilst penning my wedding speech here 5 years ago. I've actually dreamt about the sandwich from my UK home ever since so was delighted to find the place as busy as ever on my return to Torquay today and the infamous sandwich still taking pride of place on the mouth watering menu. Thank you Sandbah crew for making me a very happy chap. I will be back!

This restaurant has the potential to easily be a 5 star place. The only thing that is holding it back is the amount of things that are not as clean as we would like them to be. You can see a picture of one of the new “clean” glasses that you can still see fingerprints and smudge on. There was also hair in one of the dishes. The food was great and the staff was friendly but they need to improve on cleaning.

Went to get a late lunch on Saturday with my family and when we walked in the woman serving was rude and unwelcoming saying that we could only choose from 3 things in the cabinet as the kitchen was closed. Considering the cafe closes at 5 and we were there at 3 I found this strange. I ordered what was in the cabinet and was charged full price for the food even though I was told that it would not come with chips or salad as 'the kitchen was closed'. We then sat down and 5 minutes before our food arrived the couple next to us received their food which clearly wasn't from the cabinet and came with sides. Our meal was cold and when we told the woman it was she said there was nothing she could do about it as we had already eaten some of it. Overall the service was disgraceful and my Saturday afternoon lunch was ruined. Torquay is a major tourist area and considering this it has so much competition so why would they offer such poor service?? Alternatively the...

Ordered 2 coffees, 2 babycinos and 2 muffins. At 35 minutes of waiting asked how far away our coffees were, the staff wrote our order down again, we asked to bring out the muffins now as our children were saying they were hungry. Other patrons complaining that their orders were taking too long as well.

15 minutes after that the staff member said they sold 2 of their 3 muffins and could only give us one despite ordering 50 minutes ago.

Asked for a refund and the barista rudely said “why are we giving a refund” before denying that we had been waiting for nearly an hour. Then said “I guess we don’t need the coffees I’m making now then” before tipping them down the sink.

We went to Bomboras afterwards and got our coffees and muffins for our kids literally within 5 minutes of ordering. Go to Bomboras, don’t bother with Sandbah. Sandbah don’t value your business and don’t...
