Partner and I had the Brekkie wrap and Big Monkey Brekkie. Big Monkey Brekkie was okay with portion size and quality.. sad to say the brekkie wrap didn’t match that standard. Looked like it had been sitting in the cabinet for a day or two and tasted accordingly. When I asked if I can make adjustments, it was met with a resounding no. Fair enough, but zero flexibility? Strange Relish was okay as was the crispiness of the wrap but inside was utter mush. Rather disappointed.
Also don’t get me started on the “ThickShake”…. Really was looking forward to it but it turns out; was a watery waste of time.
The place felt a bit unfriendly and was a bit of a sad way to start a beautiful day.
Hopefully this is just a one off experience and not a regular thing. Won’t be back again.

Read moreThere aren't many cafes that truly stand out to me, though I love cafes.. This was one of them special ones I discovered while traveling: the "Turkish Eggs" were full of flavour with just the right balance of nuts and zesty yoghurt and dill, while being filling thanks to the choice of bread. And the coffee, perfect: no over/under extraction, and smooth with a slightly nutty aftertaste (this bean is now on my list of beans I rotate through for making lattes at home). The atmosphere and setting was also appreciated, almost striking me as a clean monkeys home, the theme mixed with wood and plants while feeling spacious.
A final note. For those reviews saying the food is blan, I have no idea why they would feel that way. Maybe their taste buds are just underdeveloped due to a diet flooded with fats and meats? (I am no...
Read moreGinger Monkey has fast turned into my favourite cafe for both a quick takeout coffee don't forget your reusable cup and cake, as well as an informal sit-down meal. Lovely staff have always made me feel welcome no matter how big or small the order and no matter how busy they get. A soy decaf latte (or anything else) is no issue for these guys and the coffee is beautifully made. Not burned and bitter. I drink various coffees and love a good latte. Here, the milk is stretched and heated just right so a latte is a latte and not verging on a cappuccino or even something else altogether! Cakes are good and they often have a yummy paella or something different, on some summer weekends, in the outside area. Well worth a detour and very handy for Rip Curl and the outlet stores at...
