I live in Torquay and this pizza shop is located in Torquay so I would have thought ordering a pizza for delivery from a local pizza place would be pretty straightforward.... not really! Aparently they decided to not set their delivery radius to actually cover all of Torquay and I seem to have found myself 600 metres outside of it, so alas as it's impossible for them to travel the extra 600 metres, and I have no desire to stand out on the corner at the end of my street in the freezing cold at the 4km radius mark, I guess I'll have to only wonder if their pizza is good or not (calling domino's who magically can deliver)
Edit after response from Owner: Thanks for responding and I understand the challenges that a small business can face. I'm sorry that you feel that my review of your business was unfair, but I do feel that it is accurate and highlights the absurdity of the way you have applied you delivery radius policy. As a small business, I would think that building up a repeat and loyal customer base would be a priority. One way of doing this is by exceeding a customer's expectations. To delivery to my address would have literally taken an extra 20-30 seconds to drive from the street set as the boundary of your delivery radius, not minutes, not navigating a busy road, but driving a few hundred metres on a quiet residential street at night. Having some flexibility can in fact build your business - remember the days before gluten free pizza bases, vegan and meat free options - businesses that took the time to be flexible in their approach and respond to, and exceed the needs of their customers, have reaped the rewards. The fact that I have tried to support a local business and not automatically gone to a larger chain, who can deliver with no fuss, and taken the time to write a review should tell you something. Wishing you every success and I hope to one day be...
Read moreI cannot recommend this place highly enough: we spent the weekend in Torquay and ended up eating here both nights, we loved it so much! HUGE shoutout to the delightfully friendly staff and their knowledge on coeliac disease. Since diagnosis, I am often very hesitant on eating out with the risk of cross contamination. The staff at Dough Bros, however, were obviously exceptionally trained. They took the time to explain preparation procedures, and also highlighted that there is a separate preparation area for gluten free pizzas (including separate toppings and sauce!!). A huge, huge thank you to the team at Dough Bros for the wonderful food and the warm welcome. Looking forward to coming back to Torquay, just...
