Golden Chicken — Restaurant in Tumut

Yesterday (25/09/22) my father went to the Golden Chicken to get some food for the family. We have been regulars here since it has opened, and did not have any problems until yesterday. My father is disabled and requires a service dog with him at all time. This is to ensure his safety AND the safety of those around him. His service dog wears a bright neon pink coat that says 'SERVICE DOG' on it. He walked into the shop with his service dog and ordered as per usual. Nothing seemed amiss until the lady taking his order quipped, "Would it have hurt you to have left that dog outside? Its got a leash, couldn't you have tied it up?". Of course, my Dad was very shocked and confused, and he asked her if she had read the service dog's coat. She said no. He explained she is a service dog, and yet he received no apology. My father left extremely upset and anxious, and no longer feels like he can order food from here. You would NEVER ask someone in a wheelchair if it could have hurt them to just get up and walk, why should she request he leave his service dog? Unfortunately I have heard that this employee is known for her bad attitude and poor customer service. If I were the owner of this place, I would immediately send this employee for sensitivity training - otherwise you lose life-long...

Rudest lady Tiny box of hot chips $5 and seriously tiny maybe 1 little potatoe chipped would have filled it , so I replied nicely, oh it's OK I will leave it. Her reply: it's 2025 that's what you pay! I walked out after saying how rude she was. Yes we are all struggling but if you want your business to survive, treat your customers with respect, others might think it's OK to pay that, but nah not that desperate! So went and got some fries at maccas and loved the friendly...

Always room for improvement. This place is not too bad though. Friendly fast service at the time, 11.00am and quality of fried chicken and a serve of chips was nice with chicken cooked and not dried out. Chips cooked at the time with nice CRUNCHY bits. Good selection of drinks to go with the food. Nothing cheap but hey, it's Tumut. Nothing is cheap. Great town and area though so I'm not complaining. I'll be back as in area...
