K&T's Cafe — Restaurant in Tumut

Had breakfast here on 26th Sept 2025. The meal was faultless. However the policy at the till needs attention. I ordered the Egg, Avo & Fetta Smash. I requested no eggs but mushrooms instead. My request was accepted and I was offered bacon as an add on, in leu of 2 eggs, I thought. At no point was there notice given of any extra charges. On inspection of the receipt I saw that I was charged $3 for the offered bacon and $2.50 for my requested egg and mushroom exchange. This practice is not common in the industry but it is there. I consider this practice to be price gouging. As a result my only response is not to come here again. So be it. It's the little things that make a business successful and its the little things that make them fail.

While passing through Tumut we decided to stop for a bite. While standing back to look at the menu, the young girl behind the til just stared. When we decided what we wanted, we walked over to the til, to be greeted with an eye roll. There was no “Hi, How are you?” or “What can i get for you?” She just stared and cocked her head until we spoke. This happened to me, and both other people in my party. On the completion of our drinks, the other young girl behind the counter just stared at as aswell, and shook the drinks in her hand as a sign to go get them. Great cafe with decent food. Came here for breakfast/lunch on a public holiday, ordered a hamburger with the lot and a chicken burger. The chicken was crispy on the outside and still moist. The hamburger was good value for money, the ingredients were perfectly balanced with the cooking of the patty being right on point - just a slight of blush of pink in the middle.
