Whilst on a trip to the South Coast, we stopped by the Treehouse Cafe, based on a number of recommendations. The cafe is located in Ulladulla, on a street parallel to the main drag. It is in a little country cottage with seating in the front yard and also plenty inside. The timber floors and tables, hanging greenery and antique decor, the cafe has a lovely cottage hideaway feel to it. It is super popular, plenty of people in the cafe every time we walked by. Whilst we were were there, there was a pleasant and casual ambience of happy diners and likeable staff buzzing around the place evidently enjoying their jobs. Service was super friendly and efficient here. We like the philosophy of the cafe; to source fresh and locally sourced products. This is a great way to show support for and help the community grow. They’re also environmentally friendly and conscious which is important that we all work to minimise our environmental footprint. Plenty of products on sale such as tea and keep cups, oils and fresh fruit and veg. The menu here has a breakfast and lunch menu (that begins from 11:30). Dishes are hearty and wholesome with a focus to meet a wide range of dietary requirements. You can observe on the menu if the dishes are gluten free, vegetarian or vegan and elect different milk options for your coffee. We also thought the pricing was very reasonable. Peruse the menu and then order at the counter. The food at Treehouse was our favourite of our brunch visits in the Ulladulla region. With a craving for pancakes recently, it’s been hard to find good ones, for so many places go way to over the top, resulting in a clash of flavours. Here, they are perfect. Three fluffy and light almond and quinoa pancakes stacked and topped with berry jam, maple syrup and a side of coconut yoghurt and beautifully arranged fruit (sliced apple, strawberries and blueberries). A decent portion too. We also tried their masala eggs, which were outstanding. We always love it when a cafe does more than your run of the mill dishes. These fluffy eggs were flavoured of masala, topped with rocket, coriander, jalapenos, fried shallots and sitting atop two thickly sliced pieces of sourdough. The front counter showcases plenty of beautiful cakes, tarts, muffins and energy balls for a sweet treat! Coffee is by “Art of Espresso", organic direct trade coffee roasted in Young, NSW. They’ve also got smoothies, freshly squeezed juices, and even a warmed golden almond milk (spiced with turmeric, ginger and cinnamon) and Bodhi organic teas. Overall this is a lovely cafe and we thoroughly...
Read moreA very lovely little surprise in the heart of Ulladulla. A beautiful canopy of trees with a bamboo/reed roof. Lovely girls serving us. I really loved the fact that they were reusing old jam/mayo jars to serve your smoothie in with the aluminium straws. The impression I got, looking at the sweets was the were trying to go healthy, thank you. Maybe there will be Keto options in the future. The smoothies were really good. And a really good surprise was when they served the carrot cake it was just ever so gently warmed. Well done. I really good star in their favour was their honesty about the freshness of their cake selection. Good on you 👏👏👏 I'm sure no one would mind the fact that they are eating cake baked the day before (but not more, I think). Sitting on the little bench against the fence, a little cushion for the back could be an idea. But observing the coming and going, people generally enjoyed their food and drinks and it was somewhat quite busy, not surprising the centralness, environment and the reasonableness of the menu prices, (in comparison to some on the main road through charging $7 for a small square of caramel slice). Overall a really nice, pleasant...
Read moreOrdered two coffees for takeaway. When I started drinking mine, there was a bumping feel against the inside of the cup. It seemed that something was inside the cup in the coffee. I took off the lid and slowly poured it out into the sink. I was astounded to see a toothpick inside the cup! If I had swallowed that, there could have been serious consequences. I was very concerned and thought I should ring the shop to let them know, which I did. I also emailed them to inform them of the situation. The girl I spoke to said that she would let management know. It has been two days now and I have not been contacted by anyone representing this cafe. I was not going to put in a review, I just wanted to speak with management but they obviously don’t care about their customers. A toothpick in a takeaway coffee? I just hope it...
