Andiamo Restaurant and Bar — Restaurant in Victoria

We had a 7:30 booking that was running late, which is fine we sat at the bar and had a drink. Everyone seemed a bit frazzled but it was a Saturday night and it was busy. It took a while to take our order and then the entree, sides and main turned up at once. I got my main and we waited a bit for my partner's main to turn up, she encouraged me to eat mine before it got cold, I finished my main fairly quickly and she ate the side and while she wasn't super hungry she figured that maybe her main wasn't coming as I got to the end of mine. At that time my main meal plate got cleared and the waiter asked how our meal was when he clearly only took one plate and her cutlery wasn't touched and we just left it at that because it was getting late. Probably should have said something but it was all a bit rushed and we felt we didn't really get the opportunity to say anything. We thought we would just order some dessert and after sitting for 15mins, we figured wasn't coming either because the kitchen was packing up at this point and putting foil on containers and we were the last 2 couples in the restaurant. So we went up to pay and asked to take the dessert off the menu because we never got it and the waiter read the bill out to us and never twigged that the second main wasn't even on there even though he took the order from us at the table and recommended these to us. Lovely venue, great atmosphere. My steak was great, cocktail and wine was lovely, sides were lovely, but was a bit soured by the lack of main meal...

In order of things thst happened:

Get the door for one to be there, no idea what to do and no one really helped. Also found out the menu and name have changed.

We didn't know the menu was different from online and only found out that it was a set menu when trying to order.

We were informed that they had to make a table for us as they were fully booked, it was about 75%-80% empty when we left.

The manager told us that we could get a two course meal that included one entree, 2 mains and 1 dessert but I seems the other staff aren't aware of this and we're rather confused. We need up giving up and just ordered more than what we really wanted.

The bar staff then came to inform me of the drink I wanted wasn't available, while this normally wouldn't annoy me as it happens, this was starting to get annoying.

Food took a while and while waiting for the food, a waitress asked if we wanted anything extra to drink and ignored us when we then tried to order.

When the dessert finally came the waitress didn't even know what dish she was holding, we had to tell her. We also had to wait even longer for one of the desserts to arrive. The chocolate parfait was close to froze and really wasn't editable.

Food was fine but not worth the price. I did however walked away believing I wasted the money I spent.

Wouldn't come again. Overpriced and just not worth the hassle.

Quite possibly one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had. I would rate 0/5 if I could. Hotel and Hotel staff were great. I would recommend the hotel itself.

Staff - Nice, but completely understaffed and not properly trained. The staff were not rude by any means, but they didn't even have a manager or anyone running the place.

Service - Beyond terrible. Had a booking 3 weeks early. Arrived and nothing was set and we were given a table that was made of 2 random smaller tables and chairs which made it extremely uncomfortable. We were waiting 30minutes after menus were given to get our orders taken. 1hour for drinks. 1.5h hours for entree's after I had to ask what was going on and 2hours later we had to leave because we had an event on and were very displeased that we had not been served and were told the staff were "unsure when mains would be ready - maybe another 30minutes'. Disaster.

We were offered our drinks as compensation, but nothing else. The hotel manager who was fantastic, offered us compensation due to the issue and told us if we came back (for them to make it right), we would get some free drinks, entree's and dessert + a VIP table with a view.

We accepted and came the following evening. The service was again shocking. We got our drinks and the nice table, but then waited another 1.5h for mains.
