The service at this establishment was incredibly appalling and off-putting. We had ordered a hot chocolate with oat milk, but realised we had been served a hot chocolate with full cream milk instead. This was a simple mistake and we simply let one of the staff know what had happened in hopes to get the situation rectified, but the server immediately took on a defensive and argumentative tone. In a loud voice, she went, "Are you SURE?", before going to talk to the barista to check what had happened. She returned seconds later to insist that "The barista said the drink is oat milk," in the same rude tone. Our entire table was shocked speechless at how brashly she was speaking to us. We had only taken two or three sips of the drink and agreed that it was indeed full cream milk, but the lady was treating us so poorlyâassuming we were lying and sending the drink back so we could get an extra drink for free, or that we were stupid and didn't know what oat milk tasted like. We felt so helpless in that moment because it's not like we could make the staff drink it to prove that it was full cream milk, and we somehow became the villains in this situation.
They still offered to replace the drink in the end, and it was much appreciated this time around because it was definitely remade with oat milk. However, the atmosphere was completely soured and our table found it difficult to enjoy the rest of our meals after the encounter with the server. With many of us having worked in food service ourselves, we were not rude to the staff throughout our time at the establishment. We only wish the staff had the same respect for us. It's unbelievable how intensely the server reacted over such a small incident. How does she behave to customers when worse situations arise? Please do...
Read moreWe had an awful experience today and I found the way the staff dealt with us over the issue was not short of disgusting. We went in with our young boy of 15 months. He was a little under the weather and tired so we did not want to spend more time than needed in the cafe. We ordered our food and coffee. There was a power cut and then it came back on so we had our coffees as the machines were back on. We thought nothing more of it and waited and waited for our food to come out. We sat right near the counter and the chef even waved at our son. Our son was noisey and we walked him up and down to try to keep him quiet as his patience was wearing thin. The lady even came over and said hello to Kaylen and commented " Is that you making all the noise?" Basically, we did not blend in lets just say. An hour later we asked...where is our food? It was then discovered given the power cut our order never went through to the kitchen. The first thing the waitress said was "oh its nobodies fault!!!! Are you joking!!! They have been walking past our table, dodging around us walking our little one around the cafe to keep him calm and they dont think to check on our food orderđ¤Ł....what an absolute disgrace. To add insult to injury the lady asked us "what did you pay for?" ....."oh you had your coffees so I will take the money for these!" My partner responded, " how about you just give us our money back." They were actually going to charge us for our coffees! We will never go back to this place again and having a place/ rental there means will also be recommending to our customers to not go here. A terrible experience and one that meant us driving all the way back home on an...
Read moreOrdered the mushroom bruschetta and eggs benedict. Considering the eggs benedict was $20, we did not expect a Maccas McMuffin to come out. Rather, it felt like the McMuffin was heftier than the one they served us. It was tiny and bland, definitely not worth the money.
We were seated and served by an older lady, presumably the manager based on her attitude towards the other staff. I was given a cappuccino instead of a hot chocolate and when I let her know, she started arguing that it was the correct drink and questioned if I misspoke when giving my order. After insisting that it was incorrect, she demanded to know what I want to do with it as if it was ridiculous to ask for the correct order. She went to check with the barista and came back to insist it was the correct drink and that I was mistaken. Although she agreed to take it back, it felt like I was attacked for inconveniencing her for her mistakes. Moreover, the attitude she displayed to the other customers made us question we were targeted for being young adults or asian...
