Cafe R n R — Restaurant in Victoria

Café was moderately busy when we entered. We were told it would be about a 15min wait for coffee, food longer. That would have been OK except for the fact that my long black did not even taste like coffee. I went in to ask & pay for another shot only to find a sign on the counter saying, "15min break while we catch up on orders". Seriously?! Plenty of staff on board that orders should have been pumping out & not that busy. We each had a BLAT which tasted ok but was small & on plain sandwich bread, a bit average in this day & age when there is so much better bread to utilise. Staff were not rude, just inefficient & obviously do not know how to make coffee. Definitely wouldn't go back...

We just arrived with family, seen & heard sign stating wait 15 minutes, then was told coffee's only, we are hungry know & want drinks with the meal, not before the meal, my 1st time here & last time, due to 15 minutes wait. So our breakfast will take 1 hr so we can eat, step 1, we ordered, step 2, then make, step 3, then give to us on our table. Very rude staff, I asked how long will it take so we can receive our meal, other older lady next to cashier snapped at us & said 20 minutes wait & it's still self serve for a bottle of water & glasses. They didn't say, how would you like your eggs. Burnt bacon. Very cold near...

After a google by the husband, we stopped in here for breakfast before heading back to Melbourne, lured by the possibility of a BLT. We were not disappointed! Good honest and simple food, somewhat hard to find in the age of fancy breakfasts. Hubs got the bacon, egg and cheese roll while I had the aforementioned BLT. We also shared a bowl of chips.
