Chang Noi Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in Victoria

I have always loved this place but unfortunately tonight I have had the most negative experience ever. Every couple of weeks I would get take away or visit with our family. For my birthday celebration we got takeaway- unfortunately in my vegetarian meal there were bits of chicken. I rang to say what had happened and was told ‘it couldn’t happen’ and to come so they could ‘inspect it’. Now I get mistakes happen but the fact they wanted me to drive in so they could determine the ‘truth of the situation l’ was really beyond rude. Come get a new meal - I understand - but go back to inspect it?? Anyway i leave my birthday dinner and I go back to retrieve a veg meal and give them chickeny one. I go in very cool headed as I get things happen no need to be cranky - but before the returned meal is even opened owner starts laughing and eye rolling saying ‘it couldn’t happen ‘ and smirking . I ask her why it is so amusing ? I have driven back because of a kitchen error instead of staying with my family for my birthday meal . I understand mistakes can happen, this isn’t the first time I have had a mess up with veg meals but I understand kitchens are busy places. To arrive and have rude staff saying that I am scamming them is something else!! Anyway She opens the full uneaten meal sees the chicken and then says that I PLANTED it! Why the hell would I PLANT the chicken and drive back to get the exact same meal as I ordered??? What other than a meal eaten solo ( as my family would have finished their meals ) would I get out of that?? Nothing! The whole interaction she laughed at me insulted me and accused me of scamming them. Honestly I didn’t even trust eating the replacement as with her attitude I could only imagine what she did to it. she was SO horrible. She went to give me my money back, but why would I want it when I just had a serve of complete disrespect and arseholery. Keep your money and forget further business you are the worst of customer service. Horrible horrible owner:manager. All through Covid before and after we supported you just to be told I was as trying to SCAM a meal out of them. frankly I could not be...

Absolutely disgraceful service by the two ladies serving my wife today. We ordered take-away but decided we would like to eat out the front on the restaurant's outside tables. We were told that we could not do this as it would be "bad for business". We were absolutely bemused by this comment, as there was no offer to accommodate for us. We would have been happy to pay extra if this was the issue, but we're not offered this option. Food was also average unfortunately. Watery sauce on our stir frys and very little seasoning. Never in my life have I heard of a restaurant that pushes customers out the door when they are after a table. Won't be coming here again...

Don’t bother wasting your time. Probably the only Thai place in the state who can’t do a gluten free curry. But you have to turn up to pick up your meal to be told by the surly staff that none of the entrees can be done GF and the curry sauces are made elsewhere so they aren’t GF either. Luckily, despite a 75 minute wait they hadn’t started cooking our food. The “10 minutes” wait was another 35 mins. And we went up to ask if they’d started and the rude kid behind the jump turned to her right and picked up ours. No apology. Cashew chicken was tasteless and the beef salad had a funky taste. Quite easily the worst Thai we’ve had....
