Tandoori Lovers Ocean Grove — Restaurant in Victoria

Although the last few reviews seemed rather spiteful, I thought to give Tandoori Lovers a go last night. Most Friday nights I’ll drive past and always see it busy. I’ve always enjoyed their quality of food and I hadn’t eaten there for about a year. It’s a testament to the business that it still remains, as most restaurant businesses last a few years and move on in Ocean Grove. I ordered through Menulog. Order came 20mins early and service was excellent at the door. The hand made Samosas are still unreal, plenty of crunch and a well textured spicy and aromatic filling. The Prawn Malabar I tried again, the prawns they use are fat and go great in their coconut creamy sauce (plenty of flavour). The hero of the night for me was the full Tandoori Chicken. Thick spiced and aromatic yoghurt that stains the fingers orange when eaten. Smoky and Spicey, the chicken was cooked perfectly (couple Greek yoghurt/mint dips to go with it). The Garlic Naan you can tell is hand made and is always tasty and good to use as a mop up for the left over sauce and soft rice. All in all, a great experience with Tandoori Lovers. I really need to eat there more often, with a few options and chain stores in town now it’s probably best I/we start continuing to support these (what I assume) family run businesses....

I frequently purchase Indian cuisine as it is my favourite, tonight's food was not up to scratch. I love butter chicken, but today's was just tomato soup with a dash of cream on it. We read the reviews after and read that the owner would like the courtesy of a phonecall rather than a negative google review, so that it what we tried to do. Initially the phonecall was calm and respectful but by the end the gentleman would not listen to what we had to say. I have never had this experience before and will not be returning. I was very disappointed with the overall experience.

Responding to your response: We offered to bring the food back. You said it is in your policy not to give refunds and when asked for the policy you said you don't have it, nor does any restaurant. We did not want a full refund just for the butterchicken. I can see we are not going to get anywhere here. We did not at any point mention anything about black mailing your business, you have made that part up. The rest of your food was lovely, we just did not like the...

The worst experience of our life with Indian food, we have ordered few dishes and the value for food was below expectations, we ordered three main curries, two were absolutely the same taste, veg biryani was like added the main curry in rice, garlic naans were so horrible - some red colour was there on the naans, we all took one spoon of all the dishes and the. We called the restaurant manager, wherein he advised that they are serving this kind of food for the last 12 yrs, please don’t order food from Them as it’s everyone hard earned money and seriously it’s waste of time and your money, we paid $160 for this meal and they don’t have the courtesy to offer us refund or replacement of meals. since today early morning I have got gastro issue and stomach pain, booked appointment with Gp, as I was the one who ate 4-5 spoons of vegetarian rice ordered from them as rest of my family cooked...
