The line out the door gave credence to the great reviews and awards for this place. Even with line out the door, the large number of staff meant we quickly got to the counter to hear who's next. Got a surf and turf pie and wife just normal beef pie. My god, best pie I have eaten. Pastry was perfect tactile and crunchy but neither hard nor fall apart. The beef was nice and chunky and prawns were good size for a pie. Wife loved her pie too, even though I forgot to get sauce and she usually won't eat a meat pie without sauce but did this time and loved it. How more Australia day than having a great pie. Read moreWas very disappointed in the quality of the pies, got beef and mushroom and a beef and pepper plus some sausage rolls and party pies for the kids. My two pie were not edible because of the amount of hard chewy bits of fat that was in both pies, and to top it off the sausage rolls had long bits of plastic in the pasty. When I went in and showed the staff she told me this had happened before and it was bits of onion. Come on how stupid do you think I am, she then told me she would show the pasty chef . When she come back told my again it was onion peel. Not sure how they have won so many awards there must not be any good competition if...

The bloke that served us (space cadet) forgot to make us our drinks and as we sat outside, we thought we’d wait a little longer (you know, local bakery, give them a break). I went to ask after about 15 mins (we’d already had our pies), and if I was a sausage I would have been charcoal - I was basically grilled - the head barista didn’t believe that I had even placed an order!
