Hungry Jack's Burgers Bendigo — Restaurant in Victoria

The food was okay… chips were fresh but the burger was poorly assembled. What I was extremely disappointed by were the workers and the environment of this restaurant. Firstly, we come in at a quiet time, we pay at the kiosk for it to not work. So we go up to the counter and ask if we could get a refund and said that we’d receive it within 48 hours so had to pay up at the counter. Mind you, this happened to a few other people and they expressed their concerns. (They did not turn the kiosk machine off to prevent this from happening again). While we waited over 20 minutes for our order… the front service staff were not doing much; which is expected because kitchen were prioritising drive through orders… but that’s the problem there. The kitchen was extremely backlogged with burgers causing the OPEPE percentage to be below 30% which isn’t acceptable at all… all cars coming from the booth were up to 8 minutes and were being parked on 10 minutes which caused drive through to block. Only two holds were run out during my time being there. What was crazy is that all the back floor staff were extremely slow and just didn’t seem like they cared at all. Now back to front counter. Because of drive through being blocked… more costumers and delivery drivers were coming in and having to wait over 20 minutes for their food. Which caused the TWO front counter staff to be incredibly stressed without being able to really do anything. One of the employees with blonde braids yelled at a delivery driver because of the stress. Costumers were getting impatient and mad from 1: the kiosk taking the money and the order not going through. 2: having to wait so long. 3: staff being extremely careless and fast paced. Not once did I see a manager come in and help front counter OR drive through which is absolutely disgraceful. A manager role you’re supposed to help positions when needed, make sure your staff are SAFE and OKAY, and make sure that BOTH drive through and front counter and running smoothly. I know this hungry jacks will either be under new management or the whole store itself will shut down soon. But take this as a little advice. As a fast food restaurant whom is placed right in the heart of Bendigo. You need to ensure that all things are running SMOOTHLY and FAST. Update November 2024, Cool calm and collected. It was one of the busiest nights I have ever seen at Hungary Jacks Bendigo when we decided to dine in. The place was absolutely jumping, this includes the drive thru and deliveries. We were not in a hurry tonight, so we just observed the very busy service as we waited for our orders. I have raised my service rating here to 5 on this review. Team member, George, (and others) did a stellar job. George was cool, calm and collected with the many orders he was taking. Nothing seemed to frazzle him as he worked at the front counter register serving the majority of customers and then jumping in to help prepare orders too. He did all of this with a happy and efficient demeanor in what was a very challenging situation. He gets our vote for 'employee of the month'. Great service does get noticed and rewarded.Well done!!

Previous review Friendly service here. Well, that was a bit weird. I ordered a medium Whopper meal to include a medium orange juice. I received the Whopper meal with a very large orange juice and a Drumstick ice-cream which I never ordered. Of course, I do know how this happened. My order was partially mixed up with the person who was ahead of me in the queue. The staff member relied on what they thought was ordered by each person rather than checking the printed POS order. They prepared and filled both orders at the same time. When this sort of thing happens, I am the one that usually finishes up missing something from the order but not in this case. I went to this Hungry Jack's simply because I had come out of the supermarket on a hot day. I would usually drive to Mc Donald's. The convenience stopped me. Once inside I tried to place an order but asked the lady at the front counter if mustard was an ingredient as my partner had a food allergy to mustard. She said she'd ask someone. A man out the back in black trousers and a button up long sleeve light shirt told her he didn't know. They don't know the ingredients of the sauces in the burger. She came back to me and said that they did not know if mustard was an ingredient in the sauce. This concerned me and I asked if it was an ingredient in the angry onions (I wanted to rule out powdered mustard too) she said she didn't know. No one knew the ingredients in any of the products they were selling. I found this bizarre as I figured somewhere in the restaurant the ingredients list of the food and condiments would be available. Her brupt answers and attitude in general gave me the impression no one knew or cared. So I told her not to bother and walked out. I drove to the Mc Donald's about a minute away and ordered there. They knew the ingredients list for their burgers and condiments and other foods. If you have allergies, intolerance to something or just want to confirm the ingredients in the alleged "Vegan Burger" don't bother. No one seems to know what is in any products or food sold here. And you'll be treated like an idiot for even enquiring or assuming ingredients would be available to anyone, including staff and management. Drive the extra minutes to Mc Donald's and do...
